With Isner's return, he was always going to be under the gun serving second. He even failed tactically, like going for those silly drop shots, hitting too many on PHM's backhand ( much stronger and solid ) and exposing himself going around the forehand. He survived till his serving arm was firing bombs. But by the end he was serving about 40-50 Km/h lower than what he was doing earlier, PHM was making almost all returns.

Anyway even if Isner had won this, I'm certain he would have lost very easily in the next, like he did in wimbledon that time.

Still, love the fact it was a marathon match....there's a certain unique drama to it

Reading some comments posted on the RG website about Murray. Its just amazing to see how many dum-dums are there who actually believed in Murray's injury and that miraculous win. Murray is definitely a good actor.

I am crossed I missed the Isner PHM match but having watched the Isner/Mahut maybe I did not miss much quality wise. No mention of the Gasquet match..anywhere. I'll check the result.

Yes, that was funny but I think this move was actually the frustration of not having a deal with the manufacturers. We learnt since that Fischer has gone bust so maybe those he smashed were Fishers he was not going to get his money from....or Heads not wanting to give him a nice deal.

I noted then that a few players who used Heads had moved to other manufacturers as well (Wawrinka, Karlo, others I forgot) cause they probably got Sharapova and other big names in.

So maybe clues there.
