Why do people want Sahin? Yes he had a great season in Germany (I was bigging him up myself a year ago), but he has spent a season injured and apparently Madrid want rid.

You'd have thought he'd compliment Alonso perfectly yet isn't getting played. This must say something.

one bad injury and its tough to come back to a side top of the table and madrid want to keep him

I thought that too, BB.

Sahin is talented no doubt about that and he suffered injury problems. He recovered and only started one game all season.
Chinese whispers in Madrid suggest Mou is not convinced he has the dynamism or the Mentality to make it at Madrid.
Now, being Mourinho, i dont know whether it is a tactic or he is being serious. I recall him saying something similar about Benzema and he is now the de facto No 9 for Madrid and Higuain the sub.

Not mention the fact that Madrid has been the deathknell of certain players.

Who recalls Sergio Canales? He was supposed to be the new Spanish wizkid. We were in for him and Madrid gazumped us. One season on bench , he was shipped to Valencia, started well and promptly got injured.

As for Sahin, has he just been injured this season in particular, or is he injury prone in general? If it's the latter than I can see a good reason for not getting him as we already have two injury prone CMs in Anderson and Cleverley. Not a dig, but I think it's something SAF would likely consider.

If SAF actually tries to spend 30 million on Modric, then I hope the Glazers tell him the money isn't available.

I endorse this post. I would only advocate the acquisition of Modric if it was on a free or a fee in the region of 16m. He's too inconsistent to waste good money on

No Spurs fans bitten? Incredible

I agree with Red Russian. I don't want an 'enforcer' as you put it, and TRC says, there's an English obsession with it.

The reason I think we need one is because I think this is the type of player Fergie likes. He used Fletcher a lot. Look at what he tried to make Anderson into. He plays Park in the centre for his work rate.

I disagree with when he does this as I think it's a dated style of footballer, sadly Fergie does not. Therefore, if we are going to sign this sort of player I'd prefer one that is more accomplished on the ball.

And Anderson is the epitome of consistency considering we paid £21m for him?

Everyday you post Anderson's transfer you invent a new figure.

I didn't bring Anderson to the debate but with his inconsistency isn't it prudent not to throw money at players who may play a whole season but turn up for a 3rd of the games, against lowly opposition?

On a separate note, can you change Anderson's initial transfer fee? If you can't why bring it up? That's silly.

I think Schweinsteiger is what we've been badly craving for to be honest. He is that type of player who can control the middle of the park and spread the ball to the likes of Nani, Rooney, Valencia and Young.

I know this might sound bizarre but he would certainly link up very well with Hernandez which would revive his form. Schweinsteiger, Kagawa and Strootman are the only three that would adapt to our style of play.

As for Modric, I've said this on many occasions, Modric is an average player and he's certainly not the type of player who would do have a successful career at United. It's fairly evident that he's not capable of assisting and scoring goals seeing as he's proven this a number of times.

We need a Yaya Toure type of player Imo.

hernandez's biggest problem is controlling the ball and staying onside.
the lad can finish, but he controls a ball further than i can kick it!
