It'll take quite a bit more than that to get Chiellini.

Otamendi would be decent but I would prefer more money as opposed to Rodriguez, who wouldn't get a game with me.

For Chiellini = upwards of £19m. I rate him as one of the best in the world.

Barzagli is also great but I'd ask for £10m + Otamendi and Lovren would be a straight swap.

I'll tell you what, if you're desperate for a defender I'll accept Barzagli = Otamendi + £10m.

Barzagli is also a top defender but I do need the money and I think this option would be great for us both.

About £30m. Not his exact valuation but getting rid of Chiellini would leave me desperately short in the CB department so I would need a bit extra to get the replacement.

I really can't afford to let my best CB go for such a low amount, even if I do rate Otamendi quite highly.

Rolando + Otamendi + £16.5m would be absolutely perfect.

Rolando is the better play, yes. But just. Plus Otamendi is slightly younger so their valuation would be quite similar.
Either way, I wouldn't accept just £16.5 + px for my very best defender when I'm only open to bids so that I can get a really good budget for foreigns.

Right, I've been thinking it over and I've decided the signing I was going to make was more of a luxury than a necessity and there's no point trying to raise funds to bring in a luxury player much less selling my best defender in order to do so.

£19m + Otamendi is a tempting deal but isn't one that would help me do well in this league.

However, I am kind of interested in Otamendi or Rolando and I'm wondering what it would take for either of those.

I'm willing to swap Barzagli if needs be.

Right, so you have an £18m budget. If I offer you £7m for Otamendi that would give you £25m and enough to sign a class defender from the foreigns.

I honestly don't think I could find a defender to come to me who would be better than Chiellini whereas I'm sure I could find a defender to help improve your defence.

I would be interested in Rolando or Otamendi. Both are good defenders and the extra money would definitely help improve your defence.
If I wasn't trying to sign a very expensive forward, I'd be looking for one myself.
