im glad.

seems like a nice lad.

he's blaady stupid to name us at this stage with the dela not completed though. knowing (of) DL, he'll think the same thing, try to drive a harder bargain, and it'll collapse with the player remaining in holland for another season.

I know many wouldn't class Vertonghen as world-class defender yet, but this is one of many big name signings that you guys will be making I guess.

A striker, left-back and a decent midfielder would be ideal for you lads to get into the top four next season. 'Arry might not have the funds available but from my perspective those signings would make a huge difference to your side.

Are you ok there mate? 'Arry and your fans have huge ambitions and playing Huddlestone, Jenas and Livermore wouldn't get you very far and certainly wouldn't help you in your journey.

Let me be a bit more precise for you. From what I've gathered, Spurs' supporters want to see their team in the CL, so how would you be able to complete with the likes of Real Madrid, Barca, Milan, Bayern and the rest of the tops teams in Europe?

Come on mate, we both know that your midfielders would get shredded into bits in Europe.

Did you see Sandro vs Milan? He was absolutely awesome, no doubt when he hits form he is among the best defensive mids in europe. Huddlestone too in europe is superb, the extra time he has on the ball really helps him too. Livermore looks like he has the potential to be England quality in the near future. Jenas won't be in our squad next season so no point in talking about him.

Huddlestone and Livermore are not quality players. There average. And Jenas is awful. The only player from your midfield that would be labelled 'quality' is Sandro.( Didn't include Modric because he is potentially off to PSG).

Don will see this and needlessly cream himself

Have you ever seen Huddlestone play!? To say he lacks quality is ridiculously ignorant, of course he isn't one of the quickest players and sometimes that can be exploited but he is technically superb with one of the best passing ranges in the premiership, a brilliant first touch and shot too.

Also if we do sell Modric we will obviously sign a very capable replacement.

So why is his goal scoring record so damned abysmal for a CM player then ?

Vertonghen looks the real deal (courtesy of youtube vids), he is clean in the tackle, good in the air, able to carry the ball out of defence with ease and a very good passer of the ball also.

Combine this with the fact he can play anywhere along the back and also in midfield if needed, he should be quite an acquisition.

In terms of Huddlestone, people who say he is bad or "average" don't see him. The talent he has to turn the ball over
=============

He is most certainly not a ball winner !

Defensively he has to improve. There's no doubt he has got an ability. You could say the same about david bentley, but huddlestone has got more chance of turning what he can do into a consistently valuable team product than bentley has. It's a big season for him coming up, and I hope he has a good one.

I disagree with what others have said about Jenas and Livermore. Livermore looks a quality all round midfield player to me, and I think he has the potential to go a very long way.

Simply because he doesn't bomb forward into the penalty area very often, most of his shots are from distance.

id agree audere that where he takes the shots from is a factor, but his percentage on target is still woefully low. also, whenever he does (rarely) get into the box it's like his brain goes scatty and he cant do anything. he has got rolls royce feet though and a huge amount of power, no doubt about it.
