I don't expect Spain to 'thrash us'. As shown by Switzerland and Holland in the WC2010 and more recently by England, it is possible to frustrate them and sneak a positive result.
I think qualification from the group will be hard, I see Croatia as potential surprises of Euro 2012, while Italy are hard to judge at this point.
Hard, but possible.
Quarter final v England?
Sea, beimid ansin , cinnte.
D'Jeezuz.
A game against France or England would be amazing! Nevertheless, we need to beat Croatia first and take something from Italy!
Perhaps, I am too respectful of Spain, but I still believe they are head and shoulders above anything in world football. They have near enough two top class players for every position.

Hard, but not impossible. This ROI team have shown two important characteristics recently: [1] They are hard to beat; [2] They can score goals. Throw in a bit more determination and commitment and who knows how far they could "Greek" their way in this competition. If you can get out of the group stage, the skys the limit! GO FOR IT!
Has any international team won ever won 3 major tournaments in a row? That's the only thing putting me off Spain for this one. That being said I think (and hope unless we shock everyone and win all 3 games 1 nil ) they'll walk our group which will leave 4, hell maybe even 2 points and a better goal difference being enough. Sadly I think we'll come up slightly short, but feck knows we'll have a good time doing it!
I don't think we'll get thrashed, definitely not when Trapp is our manager.
Dont think Spain will win it. Puyol and some of the others are past it. I think Spain are getting ready to follow Barca out the back door. More importantly, the Spanish Basketball style of soccer where possesssion is retained at all cost and the ball is passed around endlessly, is due a SHOCK from the more direct, fast ball, hard running, counter attack style developed by the famous Crusaders team during their recent Setanta Cup triumph and copied by Chelsea, albeit imperfectly, in their Champions League victory.
Have to be honest and say i don't believe we will get out of our group. Yes we will give it our all and come close.
But looking at the quality of the opposition i just can't see us doing it.

Puyol is injured, which other members of Spain's squad you reckon are past it then Shen?
I think we'll get beaten by Croatia, who look very impressive, then we'll regroup get a draw against Spain and a win against Italy (they lost 3-0 to Russia the other day, not looking too good at the moment)
Dunno, Croatia looked poor yesterday against Norway. They lack that quality in midfield to create, Modric and Srna just don't make things happen in the final third.
Think Ireland can get a positive result against them.
