god help the unnamed club.

Very good player who would do well in the Everton side crying out for a striker.

A question for you. If it does turn out that Bendtner is in talks with Everton, do you fear Arsenal will try and take Baines or Jagielka from you? I did hear somewhere that a part exchange was on the cards, with us wanting Baines for Bendtner + a bit of cash.

I don't think either Baines or Jags will go anywhere to be honest. I don't mind Bendtner but I wouldn't want to lose either of those players for him.

Plus if we were getting an aerial threat like NB, Baines would be his main source of ammunition

Could be Yobo?

Wenger has always been rumored to be looking at him, could this be that time.

Any ideas as to where the transfer fee would come from?
Reported as £10-12 million.
In my opinion circa £8 mil.
Unfortunately even that is miles away from available funds.

No idea, but as Earl said it will be sell to buy I would guess sales?

Yobo.....I think apart from Rodwell, Baines and Jagielka we would struggle to offload any others due to the contracts they are on.

£10-12M for Bendtner?

He's total shight, I wouldn't want the deluded whopper anywhere near Goodison. Sounds like the kind of overated donkey that Steve Bruce would giz a fortune on.

I think he has something we could use. The ability to hold the ball up, especially when Saha is made of glass and not able to give a full season. He never fitted the Arsenal mould, would he do better at a side that will use him as a target?

Sadly for Bendtner too much has been made of what he has reportedly said.
He says he thinks he can become one of the best players in the world with hard work.
It is reported as he thinks he is the best player in the world.
Everyone jumps on the bandwagon, and soon the truth of what he said is lost behind what people think he said.

He is actually a good player, who given games in his proper position will get goals. He scoring record is something like 45 goals in 150 games for Arsenal, which is not bad. If you then factor in his age, and the number of appearances that were as sub, then it looks very decent.

Sadly he hasn't quite forced his way in at Arsenal, but if he did sign for Everton I think he will guarantee goals, and in a couple of years, a massive profit!!

I doubt the move is to Everton, but if he were signed then it wouldn't be with selling with a profit in mind - we need goals!

IF Bentdner did sign he would be an improvement on any forward presently at the club.

I don't know about that. In Saha and Yak we have two players who can be top class when they want to be

posted on 9/7/11

I wouldn't say improvement, just another option. I think he would do well with Beckford

The guy is a donkey. I can't claim to have seen every game he's featured in, but from I've seen(about 10 matches) he is a donkey.
His touch is up there with the likes of Frank Sinclair. He can't pass, his finishing is bad and he's slow.
No thanks.
Moyes wouldn't be so stupid.

10 games? Your opinion means toss all

Believe me you lot, Bendtner would be a quality player for you. Clubs like Bayern and Milan have been in for him the past and he said no to them but sadly he will never get the chance with us to get a run of games in his favored position. I can guarantee that if he does it with you lot the £10M-£12M you cough up for him would look a bargain by the end of the season.

To WhynottrustMoyes, you obviously haven't watched him because he is a very good passer and actually has good vision and apart from scoring goals will create a lot aswell. He is a very good finisher, and can score all sorts of goals. I will give you his first touch though, but even that part of his game is a bit of an enigma, you have to look at some of his goals or assists against Ipswich, Boro even Everton when we won 6-1 at Goodison.

If we were to offer him + cash for Baines I'd certainly be up for it. Baines is quality, far better than Enrique who we have been linked with and on top of that is a threat from set pieces which we do not have. I don't want Jagielka though.

Sticking my neck on the line by saying it is Atheltico Madrid as a replacement for City bound Aguero(I hope)

You must have missed the 6-1 victory for Arsenal against your own team, that Batmanu mentioned, when Bendtner destroyed the left back (I think it was Leighton Baines), and contributed to at least 3 of the goals. Out of position, but still too much for Everton.

You need to get your head out of your rear, stop believing everything you read in the tabloids and try and form your own opinion.

posted on 10/7/11

Yeah maybe. Still entitled to it though.
If the "unnamed club" turns out to be us,then I hope I'm wrong.

posted on 10/7/11

It's not what I've read in the tabloids. Its what I've seen of him that I'm basing it on.
As I said,if it is us he's talking to, I hope you lot are right.

May have been a little harsh, it is early Sunday morning and I should be asleep!!!

Just a little bored of people saying Bendtner is totally useless. Most of the criticism comes from when he was misquoted as saying he was the best player in the world. Ever since then he has been labelled as arrogant and his performances have been judged very harshly.
In truth all he said was that he hopes to become one of the best players in the world, which I think is the ambition of many a 18/19 year old player.

Doubt NB will be going to a Premiership side, more likely Germany or Spain.

Bendtner is total dross. LOL at the Gooners coming on & saying he's OK & you'd be happy with a swap for Baines dream on.

He's scored 33 league goals in 140 games for Arsenal, less that 1 in 4, for a side that create numerous chances per game.

The Blue that said he's better than anything we've got at the club, must be blind, as he's not fit to lace Saha's boots & I'd take Beckford ahead of him all day long.

posted on 10/7/11

I am the Blue that said he is better than anything we have got at the club,i believe he is.
Saha is a decent forward when you can get him on the pitch, which is becoming difficult lately.

I wont resort to saying you must be blind if you have not noticed that fact.

posted on 10/7/11

Bendtner would be a good foil to Beckford and a long term replacement to Saha.

No swap deal, just cash from us and maybe Yobo

posted on 10/7/11

David Moyes will play with a lone forward,he wont use 4-4-2,in my opinion Bendtner would give us more service in that role.I agree with you Beckford would be better suited to playing off another forward,he is not suited to playing with his back to goal, unfortunately he wont get that in Moyes favoured system
