This was the 2010-11 season, Park was one our most stand out performers and Valencia had a fantastic end to the season after coming back from his injury. I agree with Scholes though, but he picked Valencia out because of that CL final. He thinks every player should be on form for every game, he's a mug.
He talks garbage, but Park has been phased out, Scholes was brought back from retirement and his prediction of Evra's poor season was correct.
You only need to look at the signings he wanted to see he is a plank, but he is a genuine fan.

The end. Remember Park's performances in the CL games? The Chelsea game at OT? And yet he wanted him out, I still think Park can be a reliable squad player if he's given a run of games. And he wanted Valencia out for not performing in the CL final.

Park, whilst having played well in the big games, it turns out he was right, he was truly shocking this season, so his opinion was justified. And I don't believe a run f games has anything to do with it, he used to always be rested until the big games and would come in and do well.
Park is only 30, I couldn't have predicted him declining this quick because he had a decent season that year. Looks like he has been declining, but still can be a decent squad player.

Bit hard to say a player is declining when he's only managed 1 game since Jan and that game being against city of all teams!
RSC his legs have gone, he doesn't have that workhorse ability in him anymore and pretty much looks lost on the pitch. He's given the ball away countless of times, the only game I think he was alright in was the 5-0 thumping of Wigan.

no he wasn't.....it was the fact that he claimed on numerous occasions, that 'through his connections' he knew it was a 'done deal' and that an announcement was to be made on whateverday, .... that got people's backs up. Same with Nasri.

I was thinking the other day where had he gone, so he was banned ? He did seem to have some issues.
It's a bit harsh on Park, saying that he is declining. He hasn't played many games and he always does better sfter a run of games. He is rested before a big game but before the short rest he has a run of games and is match fit. That can't be said about him last season. He hasn' declined. Just a bad season for him.

If Park had not been out for the most part of the second half of the season, we both could have given him a better assessment of his form.
Don't forget saf must have seen something positive in him during training for him to have thrown Park in against City, not forgetting, that was the only game he played this year.
In saying that, i'd be suprised if he'll be with us for the start of the new campaign!
To be fair to slm he's simply been saying why he'd like to see Modric come to united and why he thinks he's a good player, albeit repeatedly, but cp was constantly peddling all sorts of nonsense about his sources and inside info about Wesley arriving imminently as if it was essentially guaranteed.
I'd rather someone posted their opinions about a player on a sports forum, even if frequently, rather than make a load of stuff up to sound like you have secret reliable sources
CP was more annoying, but if SLM keeps it up throughout the summer and then says 'we should have got him' whenever we fail to win a game next season, he may overtake him.
I rate Modric. No way in hell would I spend £40m on him, but he plays in the deep playmaker position which we could strengthen. At least SLM understands Modric's role, even if he does bang on about him quite a bit.

He played in 3 Europa league games (the 3 we lost), Newcastle 9(lost)and also Stoke at the end of Jan (won) but still, hardly enough to warrant a place v City
I think slm is getting much criticism in this case largely because many united fans don't seem to rate Modric. This is ensuring more people get annoyed because slm does rate him. In my kind not on the same scale as cps annoying articles about his sources and using public info to tel us things we already know as if they are something secret and new.

When Chelsea beat Barca he was the forst on here going on about how their tactics were better than ours when in truth, the games were pretty identical with Barca just finishing better in our games. He couldn't resist comingon here having a pop at Sir Alex about the Wembley game despite it being a year ago

More generally, as you know Im def very anti this constant slating of our players, especially knee jerk reactions like those against e.g. De Gea, or perhaps posters regularly showing little 'support' for the club or it's actions and seemigly complaining all the time, but that's a different discussion to this thread. Tbh I find hippo one of the more annoying posters in that respect anyway. I doubt that guy will be happy with united until messi lines up alongside, Ronaldo, Ozil and Rooney.
SLM is a Utd fan, misguided at times but is a Utd fan. His love of Modric and constant praise and defence of him whilst labeling our playerd cack after one game is what I find annoying about him.
