I'd be happy with mid-table myself, just another 2 victories above the crapola dealt by Eck; doable.
the other rumor flying around i can think of was "there owners were innocent"
I guess we can safely say it's a clean sweep guys
Fair play Templar, I forgot that one! 7-0 and counting! They've gone all quiet. Diddums, the mirror of total defeat doesn't project a nice reflection does it losers?
I'm going to wait n see the ins n outs before making a prediction i think
Tell ya what tho id j izz my pants with laughter if Mad Mick was handed the keys of small heath
joking aside, i wouldn't wish it on MM..hes better than that!
HOOF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How funny would that be after the nasty stuff the sty animals have said about him for years.
He's a gent, he's too good for em. Absolutely lovely guy. And he should never have been sacked, no-one could have done more with the players and resources at his disposal. I think that a lot of Wolves supporters will now know that their chairman used him as a scapegoat, because things got worse not better.
i couldn't agree more BPC
Careful, don't agree too much, pooinbarca will be accusing us of being the same person
Are we not the same person bpc?
What can we do to keep him guessing?
On the manager side of things.
I think it will be very difficult for them to get anyone who is well known, let alone Mick (who I like tbh).
How are they going to attract anyone knowing what is happening?
It's going to be tough.
Wouldn't be surprised if these takeover rumours have been started from the inside in an effort to improve perceptions.
Hello parallel universe bpc, aka SFV!
pooinfarca ain't used to folk givin it back to him and the more that do, the worse the poor little coward feels. Never mind, that street corner won't be too lonely for lady-boy, not once 'Uncle' Gary shows up to give him a special night night cuddle that is.
Love the way you want replies from Blues fans yet you only put it on the villa board. I thought you were the brains of the operation BPC?
Yes 83, I'm secretly all the Villans on the whole of JA606. Mwah, hah, hah!
Catch!
Where did I say that?
I just said that you have asked this question to blues fans but you have only put it on the villa page?
Just because you and blueinbarca have had a lovers tiff don't go mixing me up with him!
Fair enough, but you know, if I post on the Blouse board, I'm all these dreadful things, despite as I say, us having received hundreds of posts off blouses this season on our board.
Anyway, how are you man? Excited by any potential prospects for the job?
It will be tough to get anybody in to be fair mate, who is going to want to come when they can't bring in any players?
I have heard a lot of blues fans say Holloway but personally I don't like him and wouldn't want him.
I would like us to go for one of our old players, I would love a dream team of Cunningham manager and Johnson as his assistant but can't see it happening.
Mid table possible for the villa this year?
I think if you can get a couple of your players performing who weren't last season then you will be fine.
I can see you finishing between 14th and 8th.
If (big if) we can get rid of half the first team and replace them with folk who are proud to wear the shirt and put in a proper shift, perhaps mid-table is possible as a first step this season. He'll need some cash, and use whatever he can get from sales wisely, because RL ain't gonna give him more than 20m for sure.
If we're stuck with the same crew or pretty much the same crew it's gonna be difficult to get anything above 12-15th, and that's with Lambo working his magic.
I know Lambo is going to try and get the team to play footy this year, so that's progress straight away. I simply can't believe Eck and all the pundits thought Eck should have been given more time! Worst manager in memory, truly dreadful football. You could have tried a bit harder to hold on to him for us!
Yeah the compo we got for him makes it even more laughable. Read today though that you have not had to pay anything for Lambert, can you confirm this?
If Lambert can get the best out of Bent and N'Zogbia you will be ok next year. Also saw today that he is going to give Makoun another chance so will be interested to see him as he never played much even under GH.
I know a lot of villa fans want Holt but I think he could blow your budget and I just think he could be a one season wonder, Michael Ricketts anybody?
The big turn around you need is at the back and like I said in another thread I think Scott Dann would be a great buy for you.
Wow, no way, we got him on a free? News to me. I know he was on a rolling contract but not sure when the next option was coming up. Anyone know this?
I'd have Dann, and you're right about the back four, they really were dozy last year. We have problems up front though. Weimann is coming through but that's it. There is very little cover for Bent. I love Gabby's loyalty to the club, he's claret and blue through and through, but his laziness at times is annoying. And his lack of goals, well, what can I say? They don't grow on trees them strikers.
Gabby was played out of position most of last season though, if I remember rightly he started of ok last season and scored about 7 goals in his first 15 games but was then pushed out wide and didn't score again. Not sticking up for him like as I have never really rated him but new manager and all might help him although MON would love to take him to Sunderland I hear.
You will have to wheel and deal and this is where Lambert will earn his money if he can find some gems like he did at Norwich with Pilkington and the likes you will be ok but if he buys some duds it could be another long old season.
Don't know how true it is but apparently Lambert resigned and Villa tried to negotiate with Norwich but it became clear that because he had quit and the resignation was eventually excepted the lawyers have said no compensation needs to be paid? It could go on like it did with us, you and McJudas last year but that is what I read?
MON can have him! He's a sprinter who occasionally kicks a ball. I love the guy but can't stand his footy.
Lambo handed in his resignation but it was rejected I thought, primarilly so Norwich could argue for compo. If they'd accepted the resignation, they'd be due nothing at all. If they did accept the resignation without any deal, then they're pretty daft. God knows, it's bound to end up in some form of court. Let's be honest, if he's got time left on his contract, we're morally obliged to pay some compo. Christ, McJudas cost us a fortune for 12mths of misery. Never mind.
I love Gabby's loyalty. It's not often found these days.
Hes a villan through and through however, putting football matters first, I would not be too disappointed to see him leave and I'm pretty certain he would always get a great reception whenever he returned.
Can't believe we got Lambo without having to cough up. It's not like us to do that.
On another note I understand AM will be joining the sky team. He is just doing his dish installation training to ensure he doesn't put 10 at the back and one up front.
It's proving to be a hard task I understand.
