Yes it is very very good. Personally I prefer Fallout: New Vegas (came out 2 years after FO3), has a better story.
But both similar, both worlds you get lost in to explore and pick up insane weapons, like the mini nuke!
Definitely worth adding to your games collection
If you like RPGs, you'll probably love it. I agree with Sir Bubbly, though, Fallout New Vegas is better.
The game is brilliant, I absolutely loved it a couple years ago.
If you haven't played it then get it, but it has quite a steep learning curve. (well it was for me anyway)
Just don't start killing people in Megaton (where the atomic bomb is) or you're game is literally over.
People come from everywhere trying to kill you and no matter how many you kill they still re-spawn. Oh and don't go outside either as this massive alienBot comes after too firing flourescent blue at you which eventually kills you.
i haven't played this game in 4 years since that horrible event
If I recall correctly, the only way you can avoid being ambushed regularly is to maintain neutral karma; if your karma is good, then the Talon Company Mercs will come after you and if your karma is bad then The Regulators will come after you.
Fallout New Vegas is basically Fallout 3 on steroids, though - the weapons are far better (probably even too good), especially if you get the Downloadable Content too.
There are some choice tunes on the radio stations in each game as well...
"Not up to much this weekend, thought I'd give it a try."
One weekend you might just start to get into it! Serious game! The fallout series are by far the best RPG games out there!
Hardly RPG. Prefer Fallout 3 to New Vegas just for the lack of millions of bugs and glitches alone.
"Hardly RPG"
are you saying its not a RPG? Agree about New Vegas though its so annoyingly glitchy....
It's got RPG elements all over but it's definitely a stronger FPS.
Is the PS3 version still really buggy?
Its definitely an RPG but the gun controls are as good as a FPS in my opinion.
Fallout 3 and New Vegas are both great. NV was the better one though and I didnt encounter any bugs myself, other than the mutated kind.
Exactly Tony! NV was always crashing on me...

Funk Skyrim! Loved it for a few months but I prefer the fallout series!
Hey robocamp, did you manage to get playing fallout over weekend? i played the game recently and thought It was brilliant, what about you?
The scrap metal glitch is brilliant, level up to max in minutes.
Hi Junioramo, I had a wee shot of it at the weekend. I thought it was brilliant, what about you?
I wandered about the wasteland for a few hours but I didn't get up to much.
You should keep exploring and you will find a place called the crystal maze or if your lucky there is a hidden place called capefear. you can go out for dinner there
Probably my favourite game series of all time
Whats up Wastelanders this is Three Dog Awwoooooooooooooooooooooo
Soundtrack for 3 is fantastic. So catchy
Crystal maze, that's right. Go out for dinner, yeah.
You will find cape fear at bottom of map, i love the bottom area
I really like stealth games, and think the sneaking in Fallout 3 is brilliant. Love creeping up on super mutants and attacking them from behind.
Is it true you do more damage if they don't see you coming?
you have to be sneaking (crouched)
it will tell you if you get the "sneak bonus critical" or whatever it's called
