No because Ireland are good at rugby and crap at football.
Hope that clears things up

England are better than Ireland...
England also has about 10 times more people to chose from. Football is also your national sport and not Irelands. Yet here we are, both massive underdogs. Where did it all go wrong Fredrick?
Fred you are without doubt the poorest Wum on JA
And you're girlfriend wood my WOOD
Commmmmmmmmmmeeeeeee ooooooooooonnnnnnnn youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu boyyyyyyyysssssssss in green
Shen, the suits in both FAI and IFA have to much to lose in uniting....more's the pitty.
Rugby and Golf are streets ahead on this and to be honest I feel we may never see a one Ireland team.
Anyways we have a one Ireland team that are playing in a major tournament right now.....we also have a minnow who get stuffed 6-0 and have some mighty battles with the Faroes....
Fear you may be right there HOSED. Many people in NI assume that people in the ROI are all for a united All Ireland team as in some other sports, but the reality seems to be that people in the ROI are not any more enthusiastic than their northern cousins about having a united team. As you say, throw in the immense influence of the selfish suited interests on both sides and it looks like a pretty unlikely eventuality. The words of old WB come to mind: "Romantic Irelands dead and gone. Its with O'Leary in the grave." On the brighter side, I feel OWC is now pointing in the right direction again with the appointment of Michael O'Neill. I think the coming months will witness the steady progress of the "minnows" up the rating ladder to regain their former position among the big boys and their crown of the best achieving per capita team in the World!
PS Sorry, dont want to get into al the old debate again, but in common with many people on this island Im afraid I have to disagree with you -- As far as Im concerned, we do not have, as you put it, "a one Ireland team" at the moment. I believe every REAL Irishman is aware of this.
