I think you'll get him.
The funny thing though is that I reckon at most he'll cost you about £25m and Berbatov.
Bet Levy thinks he was a genius turning down £40m now
As much as I like Modric though- his game is not worth £40m
I think if Utd do sign him for £25m then its not bad business, but £40m would be insane.
By the way, it seems Chelsea mean real business. Their recent transfer activity seems impressive.
I hope he comes to united but fear he fancies a move to chelsea more.
I am a fan of modric, but if chelsea get hulk, fellaini and a new right back I think that's enough for us to challenge on all fronts
Hulk is a smashing player, would be jealous if Chelsea signed him.
Fergie wont pay over £30 mil thats for sure.
Considering Tottenahm rejected a £40mil only 10months ago, why on earth would they accept anything less than that this time round.
It's either they sell him, or he sulks for a couple of years then leaves on a free.
To be honest i don't get the hype with hulk, yes he's a big strong lad but still seems very raw to me, definitely not worth £30m, but then again he might prove me wrong.

Doesnt he have 4 years left on his contract?
It's not even like he will sulk anyway. Spurs are genuine CL contenders now, if he stays, he could very well be playing CL ffootball next season anyway
I think Hulk could have the same impact as Drogba. Do people remember Drogba's first two years at Chelsea?
He was pretty pants but he turned out to be a devastating player for Chelsea.
Last year Modric was adamant that he wanted to stay in london- that cut out everyone bar chelsea.
Now, I think he will be prepared to move if he can win things. Especially if VDV is off too...
The difference ebtween Drogba and Hulk though is this
Drogba is a team player. He always plays for the team
Hulk is one of the most selfish players Iv seen. He's C.Ronaldo but with only half the talent
modric would fit better into united's system. he can play in a two man midfield which would allow rooney to play with welbeck. sneijder would have to play with two midfielders behind him. that means rooney will have to play up front on his own.

Sorry but I disagree- when he played with Falcao he supplied him with TONS of goals
Rafa..Rio..Vidic..Evra
.....Modric..Carrick....
Nani...Rooney..Kagawa
.........Welbeck........
This attack would be devastating.

I would switch Welbeck for Valencia/Young. Considering we spent £20mil on each of those 2 and both are very productive when they play. Same cant always be said for Welbeck
----------------Carrick----------Modric------------------
---Nani---------------Kagawa--------------Young----
------------------------Rooney---------------------------
That team just looks class. Carrick/Modric controlling the game for us from deep, the front 4 interchanging constantly
I think Rooney is wasted up front, he scores enough goals from behind a front man and gets to create and track back too.
He would play the false number 9 role, like RVP has been doing for Arsenal. That way he'll het goals but also has the freedom to link up from time to time. Kagawa ad him can interchange
Plus, Rooney dropping too deep is pointless. He's only been doing so because we have no creatvitiy in the team. With Kagawa and possible MOdric, he wont need to drop so deep and can concentrate on prodcuing in the final 3rd
Good points Either way, with Kagawa added to the squad, we certainly have some great attacking talent.
But Fergie must realise we need a midfielder who can keep possession to make the whole team tick, looking forward to seeing who he buys. I hope he buys a mid anyway

Has he? I'd say Messi plays a false 9 role, RVP has been the spearhead of Arsenal's attack, he is almost always the last man.
BB, i guess RVP is a deep-lying forward and not an out-and-out no 9 even though he is often the last man but he often builds the play and then finishes it off.
He is not a falcao or Cavani, who often sit and rely on service
