We just bought Kagawa. End of discussion
No harm in reinforcing the team even more. I mean if Kagawa was to pick up an injury, who would replace him or offer that sort of creativity?
Fletcher, Park, Carrick?
looks like a rich mans graham dorrans
Has looked good in Russia but would make no sense after Kagawa.
Manutastic - kagawa doesn't play in cm, he plays the same role Rooney did this year I.e. a 10, so Rooney and kagawa can cover each other if needs be
Exactly, plus A.Young has looked good playing that role for England recently.
More than enough back up
If we can get him cheap he'd be a decent back up to Kagawa. Thought his first goal in particular was very well taken. The ball was spinning and he needed a decent touch on it to make sure it didn't fly off all over the place
Eitherway am hoping Utd spend big this summer. We need major reinforcements.

A CM and a full back is ALL we need now.
We have more than enough wingers and strikers and even in CM, we have 6 players. We also have 3 top young CBs and GKs are well covered
A top class CM to partner Carrick and a back up full back on top of Kagawa would be a perfect summer

If Berba leaves, would you expect to see a replacement?

I hope not.
I fully expect us to line up 4231 next season with Kagawa playing behind Rooney.
That would leave Welbeck/Hernandez as back up already. If we go and spend £20mil on replacing Berba, where would that leave those 2?
Theyre yougn and will only improve by playing. Plus, we should save moeny for a CM!!
Arshavin was the best player on the pitch by miles. Outstanding performance.
Is Alan a common Russian name? Just wondering…
Jalisco, no, it's not a common name at all. In fact, it isn't a Russian name and he isn't an ethnic Russian, but seems to come from one of the many minority ethnic groups from the Caucasus region.
This is a far better answer than I could have hoped for.
Thank you.

Back in 99 we had Cole, Yorke, Scheringham and OGS, all top strikers that where all needed to nail down that memorable season.
If you think saf won't be keeping the opposition manager guessing as to what formation he'll put out, then you've missed a trick or two. There's not a chance in the world that saf is going to stick to the one formation all season. I'm sure he'll rotate the formation as often as he does the players. If anything it'll keep everyone - i.e the teams playing us, plus our own players - all on their toes.
We do need another out and out striker for what will be an even harder season than we've just had. All the other teams around us will be topping up with quality and so must we or we're going to get left behind.
Saf is pushing on & i for one am glad he's testing the market!

Back in 99 we played 4-4-2 and always rotated strikers. These days we play rooney in EVERY game even when he is off form (unlike 99 i might add), meaning there really is only one position in the striking core really open for rotation.
also back in 99, we played 2 box to box midfielders who did not need the strikers dropping into midfield.
to cut the long story short, we are no more in 1999 anymore. Continually comparing them like they are the same makes no sense.

I think you've missed the point a little mate. No one is comparing. I was highlighting the point that we will (at times) go 442 and not stick to any particular formation and therfor, requiring the players to do so, seeing that Owen and most likely Berb will no longer be with us.
In 99 we didn't exactly play with 2 box to box mf's as Scholes played - at most parts- a higher line than Keane and wasn't often found defending as deep in our penalty box - unlike Keano!
Anway Red, it's all subjective and pure football manager bollox!!
This lad ripped Madrid's defence apart a few times too guys. Not suggesting we sign him but I think he is good enough to play for a club like ours.
Every time I have seen him, he has split defences open with his passing, I personally think he'd suit our style of play perfectly too
Dzagoev has been the rounds for a while now. It was suggested Chelsea were once interested but with Mata and Hazard now, i don't see it.
However, we don't need him. He seems a talent though.
i am looking forward to watching Erikssen today. I know he likes AM but iMO he is a CM and he roams about a lot.
