But developed into class players while he was our manager - yes or no?

I apologise meme lets not speculate then

Grayson 42% Warnock 22% promotion hit rate based on years as a manager.

Snodgrass has been offered a new contract as the highest earner and Warnock has stated how important he is and how much he wants him to stay.

Did that happen with Howson?

BL, you're ridiculous.

Lurker, no.

If anything Grayson harmed their development as players.

Lurker - maybe it was an imaginary missus but the psychological damage is there for all to see

May I remind you of the team he failed to get into the top 6. And players just 1 season after sg had to use.

Kasper (lesters players player of the season and fans player of the season this season)
Howson (now in prem)
Bradley Johnson (now in prem)
White (being linked with prem)
Snoddey (being linked with prem)
Mccormack (19 goals this season) Missed used last
Becchio (19 goals last season)
Aob (Then a prem player)
Gradel (now at French top league side)
Somma time (goals goals goals)

On loan in feb
Lichaj (prem player)

On loan in march
Bannan (prem player) Who he never used

This was first year back up when no one knows how we played or much about us. Nowich went up.

Not even top 6 with that team..

Bet nw wish he could got that team from start.

We be up now cos he would have sorted back 4 out.

No idea Clive, I wasn't a fly on the wall in any of SG's conversations with Bates.

What do you mean, Lurker?

Warnock has spoken publicly about the value of Snodgrass and the contract offer.

Did Grayson do that with Howson?

posted on 8/6/12

Lots now in the prem there meme - like I asked did they develop into players good enough for the prem while SG was the manager?

A simple Yes or No will do.

No, Lurker, it happened before.

Remember Howson's performance against Carlisle?

And the whole point is that Grayson couldn't even get those players into the top 6, so he must have held their development back in some way.

Did Grayson do that with Howson?
------------------------------------------------------------------------
No, but do you know why he didn't do so? Anything to do with our esteemed chairman perhaps?

Anyway congratulations on turning yet another thread into an anti-SG thread!!

No, Lurker, it happened before.

Really? You mean BJ was already a prem quality player when he was loaned out to Brighton?

Goodnight Clive and try not to take life so seriously!!

Clive I gave you 5 stars and simply wanted to have clear explanation of your first point, I'll change it down a bit until you provide facts as your title suggests.

Players that come through them doors our out of them have to bypass the Chairman and his tiddly winks!..

Players coming in they say if the agents wishes for their players are reasonable or not!..

Say what you want, that's the board and agents not the manager , I wonder how often Bates has agreed with them agents!..

Said lots of times, Howson dragged his feet for so long on that transfer it was more then a little obvious he wanted out!..

Killa, Johno, did they not want to stay, so why didn't they?..

Oh, again, Graysons fault, maybe if he'd have cut the chairman's hands of he'd have had a chance of keeping hold of the purse long enough to sort a reasonable deal out with some of them players!..

Well done meme, copy'd n pasted!..

Don't say I have to go looking for my last reply to that lot, because I again find it a bit stupid as to why you've put it up again!..

Oh, and our red card kid, you know, the one that if we'd have lost that game Grayson would have got the blame again, well he went on family grounds, so come on, lets all blame Grayson!..

In my opinion, on paper every side in the top 6 in 2011 had a better team than ours apart from Nottingham Forest. After the 4-1 win over Forest we lost to a shocking Derby side and dropped stupid points at home to Watford after taking a 1-0 lead. Very disappointing, but we'd most likely have been hammered by Swansea. We should have built last summer on that team that were nearly there instead of letting key players walk away on free transfers and selling other star players.

So Bates stopped Grayson from wanting to make Howson our highest paid player and coming out in public and saying how valuable he was, but he didn't stop Warnock doing that with Snodgrass?

I knew you'd focus on Johnson being on loan at Brighton.

The first point is pretty clear and doesn't need explanation, White BL.

If you want me to justify calling Grayson a poor manager, then you'll find plenty of articles doing that in my history.

Good night all, have a good en!.

Er, if you can!..

Nothing to do with only 8 wins in 22 games after x mas then ken?

O and grayson sold Howson and replaced him.

He never needed to or was never made to. Could kept him for the season. But he did not.

At the start of the season i would have taken survival considering Beckford left, and the only 2 real decent signings were Kasper and McCormack. Lots of cheap rejects were signed including Connolly, Bruce, Collins and Bessone. Signings like Paynter were the cheap option.
However after we put a great unbeaten run together after the heavy Cardiff defeat and the players seemed to adapt to the new level we got ourselves into a decent position. Against Forest at home we were very lucky with the sending off because at 11v11 i thought they were the better team, but after getting those 3 points and the psychological advantage, i feel we should have hung onto 6th place.

Clive I'm aware of your opinion on Grayson and respect your view, this is my last comment for the night though I feel you haven't supported your first point sufficiently as you were not stating merely that Grayson was poor but was replaced by a good one. Thus implying Warnock is better. I'm asking for supporting evidence.

The games against Huddersfield will settle this argument in the coming season, without us needing to dispute further. Let's hope Warnock wins

Have a good night

Would you ask for supporting evidence if someone said Messi was a better player than Paynter?

Nasri is a situation where the player didn’t want to extend his contract with the proposals he had somewhere else,” Wenger said. “What kind of commitment can you have when the player is not there long-term? That is the question you have to answer.

“The player can be worth a lot of money today and nothing in six months. Football rules are made like that. At the end of the day, of course, we are forced into a decision like that for psychological and financial reasons.”

That sums up the Howson and Leeds United situation for me. Fact is i don't reckon Leicester would have been in the same situation if they had a local star who came through the youth academy because they show ambition and have money and give 100% committment to reaching the Prem. Under Bates we have just got to get used to the mentality that we will act like a small selling club, cos that's all we are.
