I can only assume that woakes has improved. i have only seen him in ODIs, and he struck me as something of a trundler with the ball. However wrong my assessment was though and/or however much he has improved, I can not believe that he is the bowler that Tremlett has been in the last 2 or 3 years. I would say that tremlett is arguably england's best bowler, based on his performances during this period.

Ironically he has been used in one dayers - probably due to his batting ability, yet he is a class county bowler. Some whinge he needs more pace but he gets swing, is only 23 and guarentees wickets for fun.

Argueably, Stokes aside, the nearest England has to a genuine all rounder.

I don't think Tremlett will play for England again unfortunately.....by the time he has recovered and got fit the youngsters like Finn,Harris,Brooks,Buck,Coles,Woakes,Meaker and Mills will all be Serouisly knocking on the door. Tremlett isn't better than Broad or Anderson for sure! But he is a good player and wish him all best.

I'm not denying that. However, it's not the point of this article, which is to rank england's bowlers in order based solely on their bowling ability. On that basis I struggle to see how Woakes can be listed higher than a fit Tremlett.

Vaughan has just said that it's :

1. anderson
2. broad
3. onions

not sure whether he considered tremlett.

So Vaughan is the oracle on these things is he.

well he was england captain for several years.

i strongly suspect that you havent captained england, in spite of your misplaced pomposity

Admin...

Woakes is an excellent County bowler.
If you purely did a County best 11 he would walk in whether he can bat or not.

Personally feel not utilused well by England.

Other ex England captains do not agree with Vaughan so his opinion is not the beginning and end of everything.
JPB you are someone who holds grudges which is rather sad.
