How ITV haven't realised Chiles is a crap presenter I'll never know

I like Lawro

Yes Chiles too a complete rambling fool. I tend to watch with mute button on for the most part.

Chiles and his anti-Torres sentiments annoy me.

Chiles is the most annoying person on TV. Lawro is much better than idiots like Mark Bright and Beglin.

ITV DID work out that Chiles is crap by giving him the biff from Daybreak.

But then they put him on sport. Do they think he'll do less damage there? Or is it a case that they don't want to pay out his £4 million contract......

Craig Burley is the worst.

And Townsend.

Lawro is probably one of the better co commentators out there, his work in the studio isn't so good though.

the bbc really don't have a good record at euro 2012 so far.

in the commentary box they have mark lawrenson, who just can't bring himself to expand on three/four word sentences - normally along the lines of 'what on earth is he doing?' or 'not much in that'; he just seems so irritated by the idea of football. or mark bright, who never praises a team for a productive attack, preferring instead to whine about the defence for letting it happen.

then there's the studio. there's alan shearer who, despite offering some reasonable insight, has the charisma of a grafittied bus shelter. then we have harry 'triffic' redknapp, who seems completely disinterested in the england games now that his nephew isn't involved. or there's the confrontational ramblings of alan hansen, who is so obviously threatened by the intelligence, charisma and insight of seedorf.

i never thought anything could make jim beglin seem like a breath of fresh air, but the bbc managed it.

At least lawro comes out with something different although he is a bit of a clown at times.

Hansen gets paid over a million quid for saying f all other than resorting to cliches and moaning drivel about the defence.

Lawro is just bitter and delusional.

And anyone else noticed how Gary Lineker is starting to try and say his own opinion a lot more? Hosts are meant to be impartial, no?

Yet his criticisms of defensive systems etc are still spilling out

Townsend is awful.

to be fair though, when seedorf isn't there, lineker is the only one in the studio capable of expressing a sincere opinion. as you hinted at, lawro and hansen are just indifferent,cliche-spouting charlatans. if lineker doesn't offer any insight, who will?

I don't understand why the BBC feel the need to have a pitch side presenter with a pundit as well as having pundits in the studio. Just put Keown in the studio!

I see your point- Lineker has little choice but to try and say his view.

But I would rather he didnt- cos it appears there's a reason he never offered opnions beforehand- they arent great insights.

And as a host he should be impartial.

And the fact that the analysts are so bad is a shame. Linker shouldnt be froced to do anything other than smile and read off a screen as he is used to doing

Need to freshen it up with new pundits methinks.

At least ITV are trying that. Even if their match-time commentators are still awful (Burley ), and even if Adrian Chile is the epitome of evil

It's better than ITV, who often have their "studios" pitch side

Well said. ITV's coverage and analysis has been FAR better than the BBC's.

I feel ITV made the better decision by going out there to Ukraine/Poland. It just seems right to be there in the country where the touranament is being hosted

Adrian Chiles is awful however Vieira, Keane, Carragher, Martinez provide plenty of good analysis

The other thing which bugs me so much is Gabriel Clarke and his obnoxious and abrupt way of interviewing. This guy needs beating repeatedly
Truly awful way of intervewing.

The commentators are alright. Better than the BBC's

All in all, ITV are doing a better job than BBC

they'd probably fall out with each other midway through the match...and we'd hear some punch up in the background whilst watching the game
