Barca would win. Germany couldn't handle Messi if they played each other. Also can we stop with the Spain are boring etc it's getting irritating now. They aren't boring, they are great to watch. I think it would finish 3 or 4-1 to Barca as Germany would be far too open for their own good.

I still don't think Germany have reached the top of their game, and they have still won all their games.

I wouldn't be very confident if I had to predict the outcome of a match between Germany and Spain, to be honest.

Do Germany get a whole season to play together (or even a few months) or do they go straight into the match as if it was an international match?

>>Do Germany get a whole season to play together

they pretty much do already

hmmm i definitely dont share the same conviction as many of you do clearly... remember barca failed to beat a solid but fairly average chelsea "park the bus" team WITH messi...this german team can break any defence into shreads. Also look at the the german teams winning streak, rediculous...i guess if they can stop messi (albeit difficuly but can be done) its theirs to be won

Big difference this German attack more than they defend. That's why Barca would easily defeat them.

Not really. About 13 teams unite for the German squad, and 4 different countries are represented.

chelsea fluked it

anything can happen in football

I know Chelsea did well to defeat Barcelona and fair play to them for doing so, especially in the circumstances. But do people not believe that this result is being used too much as an example of how the same can be applied in the future?

so therefore it would come down to tactics and not soo much to quality

I must admit the penny has dropped, i am totally in awe of this german side. Never have i feared such a team club nor country.

Wow, that's some statement... you're really banging one out over the bosch.

I can think of many, many teams who I rate as superior, The Spanish one included if they hit the right notes.

Yes. Both tactics and quality would be major difference. Just like most football matches.

The thing is, its mentioned alot because it was good team that deployed such defensive tactics and it worked for them. It showed you can eat into your egos and use substance over style to get what you want... in their case a champions league trophy....

greece have done it, denmark have don it and so have porto but we came to expect them to play like that not chelsea.

it wasn't a well performing chelsea side at all

they played that way out of necessity rather than tactics

RDM became Hodgson

They conceded 2 goals against Greece... I'm still a lot more fearful of Spain to be honest.

the first was a foul and the second was a gift from the ref (never a pen and as rightly commented after had it been 0-0 would never have been given)

The first goal was definitely not a foul. And the second one could be seen as a penalty as their was contact with the hand.
