How about Hodgson? Some dodgy choices throughout, picked Downing, Henderson, didn't pick Carrick. Also brought Henderson on in extra time, how on earth was Henderson going to help when we couldnt even get the ball?!?

Just shows how poor England are compared to other teams in the world. Germany will slaughter Italy as they were nearly as crap. There is so much dross in the England team- Milner, Carroll, Henderson, Parker even players who didn't play like Barry. Time to clear out the deadwood and play youth. Chamberlain, Jones, Smalling, Welbeck even Bertrand they can hardly do any worse can they?

Not a scapegoat. I'm a United fan but Young was horribly bad tonight and has been bad in truth throughout the whole tournament. It got to the stage where I wanted Hodgson to take him off rather than Milner, which says a lot really.

I get that, but he shouldn't have been a squad player! He should be in the team ahead of Parker because for all Parkers tenacity and ball winning ability, he can't pass a ball and tires very easily

He was our worst player in the tournament. But it isn't his fault we went out. Anybody can miss a penalty. This is just out level, we have to get used to it.

Ashley young was terrible and bottled it by trying to blast it in the shootout, of course evryone is pi5sed of with him.

Carrick is mediocre

There is a myth that Parker is the new Makelele - I don't know where that began but he's really disappointed me throughout the tournament. He's slow, out of position, easily beaten and sells himself too easily. Not an international player but then Henderson???????????????? Did your manager not watch Liverpool play last season?

Have to say, I thought that was a shocking substitution. Milner was playing well tonight, I really couldn't understand that one.

Young started his United career very well. I am not sure what people wanted Young to do when he got the ball. There was rarely an option on for him.

I thought Milner had a good game tonight, a lot of our chances came from his side if you look back at the game. As a tournament as a whole, I also think that Johnson is getting a lot of the credit when some should be given to Milner.

In terms of tonight, I thought Parker and Rooney were poor and Young just looked completely scared to be honest.

Young stayed on purely because he was one of the pre ordained penalty takers..
