Podolski is a decent signing, although he won't be as good as many are expecting. How does he fit in, is also a question? Is the plan to play Podolski left, with Walcott right and Giroud through the middle?
Is the plan to play Podolski left, with Walcott right and Giroud through the middle

We don't have a plan, we just go with whatever Wenger wants.
I think Podolski is less likely to flop at Arsenal than he would at Bayern, as he is now more mature and he isn't being hyped up by the British media as he was by the German media after the 2006 WC: to them he was on the same level as Ronaldo.
Also he probably feel slightly more detached and less pressured playing for Arsenal, as a German would feel more pressure playing for the biggest club in his homeland than for the 3rd biggest club in England, and hopefully this will allow him to play his natural game and perform well.
As for Giroud, I am still sceptical about his technique, but it'll be nice to finally have a genuine goalscorer who can attack the ball and bully defenders. Hopefully we don't have to rely on him replacing RvP as the main central striker though.

Why do you think we use the same tactics against every opponent, regardless of who they are, if it's someone poor like Liverpool , or top class like Barcelona.
Everything King Kenny did went to plan.....
It was just a really w4nk plan....
TOOR,
I'm well aware that he's not really German. But he's been raised within the German footballing culture, and will have realised pretty quickly that Bayern are the 'daddy' of German football.

RVP ? or has he gone, lets wait and see, because the last time i looked he was still an Arsenal player......
I was more interested in your ranking of Arsenal as the third biggest club. City, United, Chelsea, Spurs, West Ham, Arsenal surely...
Where are Nottingham Forest, PieEater?
West Ham??? Who??
Nobody in England had even heard of West Ham until Green Street was released. Small club.
Also Giroud has great tekkers. He attempted more over head kicks than any other player in Europe last season, only one didn't hit the target.
He'll probably turn out to be more of a French Grant Holt than Emile Heskey though.
i think that is 3 seasons in a row Wenger will have signed an average striker from the French league.

I rank Arsenal as the 3rd biggest club because we have the 3rd most successful history, the 3rd best team currently, as well as a large global fanbase and excellent infrastructure.
Is that a satisfactory answer or would you like to waterboard me?

Well yes but that's what confuses me. How to you fit all of RVP, Podolski and Giroud in the team? Can't see Van Persie playing left or right, same goes for Giroud. So that only leaves me to believe RVP must be going.
It's called rotation TOOR
The same way Liverpool managed to keep world class forwards Bellamy, Suarez and Carroll happy last season.
Thanks for the good words. I think both will turn out to be great signings for us. Looking really excited to see them in action next season.

Bellamy plays on the wing.
Carroll was bought to start obviously.
I just can't see Wenger spending that kind of money on two strikers, when the midfield is seriously lacking, if Van Persie is in his plans for the new season or he plans for one of them to sit on the bench.
Arsenal still need to sort their defence - Left back and another Quality CB.
Personally I think Giroud will start as a bench player, brought on to add something different to the team while Podolski was brought in to be a first team player.
However as the season progresses Giroud will become more of a first team regular and Podolski dropped to the bench.
