It is true as you hardly see them play much away from home and then they have 7-8 tests at home on grassy green wickets against under prepared opposition. One team is always a flat track bully sub cont team (Pakistans turn this year) and then after that they play one dayers, T20s and IPL.

kash the number of games they play is dramatically less than other top teams. It would be interesting to know the reason for this.
Neon this is not so much about how well they play, home or away, but why they play so infrequently.

In the past many world champion boxers hung on to their titles by avoiding fights until they were forced to do so.
I find the discrepancy in games played astonishing.
Eng - 48 games
Ind - 46
Aus - 46
SA - 30
Only NZ and Bangladesh have played fewer.

A team that plays less often takes less risk of losing.

When did winning become a risk?

South Africa won there first home series since 2008. They drew away in Pakistan and India and for some reason are only 1 point behind England? how?

Neon get your facts right, we have lost one series nor two. Your desire for England to lose is so obvious you exaggerate the negatives.
I suspect that SA play less often because so many of their top players are in the IPL and champions league, similar problem applies to NZ.

So, to conclude, England have and will forever be a better number 1 side than India were or will be.

Not at all, Neon. I'm just stating facts, nothing else...

Neon you've done it again. Every thread you go you end up changing the subject away from the original.
You may not have noticed but recently I've tried to engage with you on this site but it's impossible.
Sorry, but I criticise everyone from Pakistani players to the Indian team, to International players to the DRS... I just think you cannot swallow the pill. I suggest you drink some water.
