i dont think levy will deal with chelsea now, utd maybe but he has said he would not sell our players to another pl club and hes a very stubborn guy

May not have the choice if he wants Avb in charge

" I reckon levy calls up every single big club on the continent to ask if they are interested before he sells modric to Chelsea."

If he does that and he does go abroad, he will end up getting sold at a stupidly low price compared to his quality.

That is beneficial to him strengthening Chelsea who are our direct rivals.

Away from Modric for a second fellas...

But I am starting to feel and ever so slight air of optimism as 1st july approaches. These rumours of Moutinho joining along with vertonghen and the announcement of AVB as new boss are making me all giddy like a teenage school girl

But if 7th July comes found and there are still no official annoucments and just rumours being banded about...
I will be seriously <pissed> off

I wouldn't be surprised to see a load of announcements during the euro final.

Evening guys

Sturridge would be better playing down the middle not on the wing

Does anyone actually know how concrete the moutinho chat is? I think he will be very expensive

I do struggle to see how you guys could be optimistic with Avb. Would feel nerves/slight worry more than anything

Think Levy should set some ground rules for a Modric transfer.

No PL clubs (Championship clubs & Foreign clubs are welcome)
No bids under £32m
Deadline of 1 August or he stays

At a push come close to deadline then offer to Manchester clubs for a premium of £35m plus.

No bids to be welcomed by Chelsea

Can see United getting him, Levy does seem to go weak at the knees when Fergie comes in for one of Spurs's players.

**************************************************************
It's more a case of Fergie getting getting the shakes and reaching for the chequebook in fear when dealing with Levy Carrick 18m, Berbatov 30m. Mugged.

I'm excited simply by the prospect of having a manager with a point to prove to the PL.
The fact that Levy is clearing the decks not only with the staff, but the playing staff too; he must have recouped a fair whack already and I really have faith in the professor.
He may be taking a risk with AVB, but at least he's got the cajonies to throw the dice.
We've still got a good squad to play around with and with the signings we're believed to be going for, were only going to get better...unless we Ramos it and end up fighting for survival with west ham.

One thing you will get from AVB is commitment, to an almost obsessive degree. His desire and vision to get results is what ultimately ousted the Chelsea players.
Pulling players up for arriving 2 minutes late for training, banning squad players from xmas parties etc.

If AVB has learnt from his mistakes or if the Spurs players buy into his regimental management style then tactically he will prove to be a sound manager in my opinion, if he loses the players.......it is all over.

Will be interesting to see the outcome
