Yeah, I think he just played it 'safe' to make sure he qualified.
It was ridiculous when Blake ran 19.26 for 200m - it didn't even get a mention in the back pages of any of the papers.
As much as I like Bolt, the whole "one man show" element of athletics is getting tedious. I'm looking forward to after the Olympics when we can have our sport back.
One thing is for certain
Dwain Chambers won't be troubling any of them
Blake beat him in the 200m as well.

Pathetic aint it...you'd have thought in this olympic home year we'd have brought a couple on ready by now
Can't even get a baton round in one piece - male or female - shoddy
How is it that chambers at 34 is uk's best sprinter?
======================================
He's not anymore with an 18 year Adam Gemili being the fastest in Britain at 10:08. All they can hope for is getting in the semi's and then getting a good draw.
He's made a spot hasn't he..?
good experience for him
Chambers - won't get past the second round on current form
Yes he has and good for him. You do have to ask with the execption of Linford Christie why our sprinters cannot run under 10 seconds in 100m and under 20 seconds in 200m (apart from John Regis)
13 June 1999 Dwain Chambers 9.97
29 July 1999 Jason Gardener 9.98
Last time a Brit broke the 10 second barrier
embarrassing frankly
200 metres 19:87 John Regis in 1984
still a uk record...
even worse
So no Brit has gone under 10 seconds since 1999
I'm sure Jason Gardeners was a one off.
Bolt is 19:19 (I think) for 200m
3/4 of a second better - probably equates to about 10 metres
In the UK trails, our 100m runners struggled to run times they will jog in the Olympic heats.

so true and these days they jog and still clock under 10 seconds. Maybe the classic British summer (rain) might help our sprinters more than the American and Jamacians?
Our guys just get going as Bolt & co are easing up at 75m
spot Bolt
