If the rules are not strictly applied then why not take advantage of them. If you don't others will...

We had Nigel Doughty propping us up for umpteen years, spending way above our means, so the takeover isn't really anything new. FFP means that we will have to be prudent anyway, and anyone expecting a Man City style spending spree is in for a disappointment.

The fridge magnate stadium: £100 million a year. Job done

I don't know what's gonna happen. It's just good that we're all filled excitement about our club, rather than dread! Or even worse - apathy (derby fans).

Good find Ray, if a little sad! How do you find these so quick as if I try to find old stuff, even on here, it takes too long... (genuine question by the way)

JUST BEEN LISTENING TO THE PRESS CONFERENCE WITH THE NEW OWNERS. AND BOY DOES IT SOUND PROMISING. - fail!

1 OF THE BLOKES HAS BEEN A DERBY SUPPORTER SINCE 1946 AND HOLDS DERBY CLOSE TO HIS HEART, EVEN THO HE HAS BEEN IN AMERICA FOR MANY YEARS. - true!

I AM REALLY HAPPY WITH THE NEW OWNERS. IT SOUNDS LIKE GOOD BUSINESS. AND THEY HAVE SAID THEY WILL BE WITH US FOR AT LEAST THE NEXT 10 YEARS. - seemingly true!

SOME OF THEM ARE EVEN MOVING TO DERBY SO THAT SHOWS COMMITMENT. - true!

AT LEAST WE KNOW THEY ARE NOT COMING TO RIP OF THE FANS, NO RISING OF SEASON TICKET PRICES. - true!

AND THEY SAY THERE WILL BE PLENTY OF MONEY FOR PAUL JEWELL TO SPEND ON NEW PLAYERS. - true!

SO WE MAY BE GOING DOWN THIS SEASON. - ahem, true!

BUT IM SURE WE HAVE MUCH TO LOOK FORWARD TO IN THE FUTURE AFTER OUR ABISMAL SEASON. -

I'L BE RAISING A GLASS OR TWO TONIGHT TO THE NEW OWNERS. THANX GSE. -

---

Darn GSE and their fancy play-on-words; most the stuff they said appears to be true!

I think I lost faith in Cloughie once, see if you can find it...

I use google all the time for work too, saves bothering to listen at the various seminars, etc

FFP is a load of rubbish. It's only designed to keep the big clubs on top.

If it was brought in purely to protect clubs, as it should of been they'd have made it about debt

FFP will stop clubs spending money they haven't got, but it won't stop benefactors finding ways of putting their own cash into their clubs.

That's right Dave, there will be plenty of loopholes for owners to put money into clubs but the good thing about these new rules is that they will not be allowed to do it in the form of loans/debt.

If you take on a football club and are only prepared to loan money for improvements, you should not pass the fit and proper test because you are potentially crippling it ala Portsmouth. I sincerely hope the new owners realise they are not going to see a return on their investments.

All we can do is look at what his previous actions have been at his 'home town' club. Spend big, spend well, bring success. That would do nicely

Now where can I buy a dishdasha??
