Realistic end of season standing?

Dependent on how many more leave the club....

Optimistically (probably very optimistically)- playoffs

Realistically- low to mid table.

Play-offs, those are at lowest 8th right? So a similar prediction, just a little more optimistic.

Why are the bookies so kean on Leicester for automatic promotion by the way?

Well, great minds n all that...

Probably cos they spent loads of money on players.

I've backed you at 16/1 to win the Championship so please be optimistic!

Depending on how we start I think mid-table at least, play-off pipe dream and automatic promotion…well…unrealistic!

16/1 to win it outright Soulboy?

Tell me you didn't waste any more than a quid on that.

I have backed us to go down along with the dingles! Its not that I want to collect on a bet like that but 12-1 for relegation with these clowns running(I almost wrote ruining)the show 12-1 one its like stealing candy from a baby.

Have not posted for a while on here, could not be doing with all the speculation, but now (as we all knew anyway) Kean has been confirmed as in charge and we have Murphy plus some new backroom staff, I am going to start again.

Where will we finish, well...

The optimist in me says... Playoffs (6th or 7th)

Realist says... 14th - 9th

With a better manager I think we would be looking at playoffs at the very least. Just don't think it is realistic. Holding it out fools hope though, once again, just like at the start of every season!

I've got City 11-8/Blackburn 16.1/Sheff Utd 5-1/Southend 16-1 in an accumluator. Only cost me £2 so no huge outlay!!

Birmingham might end up champions.SheffU and City look ok and maybe Wycombe for div2,better bets are clubs for promotion and not champs as you have more chance.

I think I will say we will finish 9th. After an average start the results will go down hill, Kean getting sacked around the new year (or after Burnley turn us over, which I hope does not happen), a new manager will come in and push us onto 9th. 7 points out of the play offs.

Miles I hope your right but ive an idea that Kean is unsackable! There is something really strange going on at our club.

DD...the top six gain entry to the play-offs if my memory serves me correctly.

It is very hard to predict where we will finish this season with so much left unresolved. Who will stay? Who will be leaving?

We know that Best and Murphy are arriving and although the money we are paying will have been attractive, logic suggests that these type of players must be confident of us going straight back up, hence joining the club.

How much of Kean's bola bola they will have swallowed is anyone's guess, but at face value it looks like we are trying to get back up at the first attempt.

OOJ W,As long as the Venky circus keeps rolling on then ive little confidence in them, weve seen some bad runs over the years but this barmy lot wins it.

Agreed star, confusion has reigned for as long as I can remember at the club, but at some stage the loss of about 25 million turnover pa must register with the owners and as they have not yet sold up, the only conclusion I can come up with is that they will try and get us back up this time round.

Strange they have not worked out that sacking Kean would repair a lot of the damage their actions have caused, immediately generate custom from fans currently refusing to attend and also give us a far better chance of actually going back up!!

posted on 3/7/12

I wont stay away from my club but I am not getting a season ticket as hard as it,most derby games home and away I will attend, and see how we do. Otherwise its long walks for me and Rover.

posted on 3/7/12

I have renewed my ticket already. Perhaps it is a case of more fool me!!!!

posted on 3/7/12

I don't think we will get promotion i think we will finish 8th to 10th with Kean still being manager for the start of the season after

Too early to tell. Will we sign enough players to cancel out the 'Kean factor'. Will we sign another defender ever? Particularly if Olssen is off. Optimistically play-offs but have doubts with the 'maestro' involved.

Remains to be seen if Venkys actually have the bottle to remove Kean if we go badly. However I kinda have the feeling we will bumble along mid-table and stay there with Kean staying and us gradually becoming a Championship team.

OOJW - you're right. Top two automatic and then the following four (3rd through 6th) go into the play-offs.

My brain wasn't working. I had 6th or the number six being added onto the top two. Brain fart moment.

posted on 4/7/12

No worries DD, it would work better for us if 8 qualified anyway!!!

Has your probabtionary period now ended?

posted on 4/7/12

Not quite yet OOJW, another week/two. Not actually too sure to be honest the exact date. Not particularly concerned over being honest.

Hopefully the Portuguese man with the walking stick will help us secure 1st spot.
