Another question...in the movers bonus table...if you are already near the top (say top ten)..how can you move up to the extent that the current movers have...?

Just a thought..

Sherriff - you have 240 credits. I am not updating results until after tonight's game as that completes the main Week 7 predictions.

I will then do a final Week 7 update on Thursday evening after the Europa matches.

The table in the OP at the moment is as at end of Week 6

Sheriff (spelt correctly this time ) - the monthly bonus tables do not take into account 'in play' credits. They are purely based on match predictions. The Sack Race and CL predictions are shown as 'in play' in the Overall table only.

I'll use you as an example.

At the end of Week 4 you had 251 credits and were in 5th place. You currently have 267 credits and are in 10th place, so you are down 5 places so far this month. The fact you have 27 credits in play isn't relevant.

Hope this clears it up

Spot on... re points - forgot today's game

Re the other thing - yeah got that ...but what i'm saying is if i start the month in tenth..I can only rise ten places max, whereas someone in 45th place has more scope to collect these bonus points..by having more places to rise

Or am I being dim...

posted on 1/10/12

No, you are not being dim. After the Euro comp that HampstedGunner created, people asked for a season one. During discussions, there was a lot of talk about bonuses. Two were requested by a lot of people, and they are the two I have gone with.

Namely :

4 weekly bonus credits for top ten highest scorers in each 4 week period.

and

4 weekly movers.

The people who get off to a flyer will get the bonus creds for predicting the best in the 4 week period.

The people who have started badly get a chance to make up some ground by being a big mover.

The following 4 weeks, it'll be a different set of people, and so on and so on.

The bonus credits are set at a value that doesn't overshadow the credits available for predicting well.

The people at the top in Week 41 will be the people who have predicted the best.

The Mover table also allows people not to lose interest. I wanted to keep as many people as possible involved, and at Week 7 this seems to be working well.

Today's question...i'm now showing as on 232 credits...(i'm presuming you've taken off 8 for the predictions i've posted y'day...from the 240 I thought was on...

So why then does this not get reflected in the 'in play' column as 35 instead of 27...?

Cheers

Sheriff - well spotted. When I set-up the Overall table with the 'in play' column, it was specifically only adding up the bonus predictions.

When I realised that there would be some weeks with 2 sets of match predictions, I thought about adding them into the 'in play' total.

But, I didn't because I couldn't be arrissed just for 2 days wait. Either I scrap the interim result update, or I add the credits in?????

It's easy enough to do, but I'm not sure people are paying enough attention to the interim update.

posted on 2/10/12

Fair enough...so my post above is correct then...

I'm sure it's a ball ache swapping this over every week, only thing is it's difficult seeing what everyone else is doing...i.e. the leader with no 'in play' showing may well have some in play....from predictions made this week

Cheers anyway..

Sheriff - I am wrestling with what to do about this now!!!

The easy solution, is for me to just do one result update per week. This is less work for me, and removes the problem above.

Or I could just remove 'in play' completely, and show the overall table with a virtual balance.

Oh lordy

I've opened up the proverbial can of worms aint I....

You could put it out to a vote I guess - in the end it's what's easiest to do for you

how much time do you spend a day doing this..just out of curiosity

posted on 2/10/12

On average about 30 mins per day. Some days only 10 mins, some over an hour.

Partly depends on how many predict ( about 90 secs to enter 10 matches). It takes 15 mins to check and publish results. It takes about 25 mins to create a new weeks fixtures.

So in summary about 4 hours per week in total.

Oh ok...

good work anyway...I guess I spend a fair bit of time on here anyway. as well as fantasy league stuff to do, & golf reports (press officer)

Just as well i'm not pushed at work eh....(i;m sure someone will suss me eventually though), & ask me to do something work related...

Just to let you know, our current leader and about 8 of the top 30 haven't predicted on the latest set of fixtures.

Catch up time I think

posted on 3/10/12

not a good set of results for me in the league cup hopefully I've done better with my week 9 predictions

posted on 3/10/12

trigg - think you might mean Week 7.

Doing pretty well. Still top of Weeks 5-8 standings, and a balance of 291 with 6 midweek predictions to be decided

posted on 4/10/12

Results updated at end of Week 7.

Week 8 has only the weekend fixtures, so last chance to get credits for the Weeks 5-8 bonus credits,

Only 34 people have predicted for Week 8 so far - loads more time to predict.
