i will not be happy. we are set at keeper for the next 15 years. we need fing midfielders

I heard this earlier and AFC's interest is real Still can't work out why we would spend big money on a keeper, when we have other areas that need to be addressed.

Sure we need a keeper but not a new no. 1

Our top striker is leaving and we sign a.....

....goalie that isn't required!

Arsenal FC, you gotta laugh!

we moan when we do not buy, why we have no strength in depth and why players leave, then we 'seem' to be getting a proven goalkeeper and we go 'NO'...

I am at a lose with my fellow Gooners.....and FYI I would be happy if he joins......

^Why on earth would you be happy with us spending 16mil on a back up keeper? It will probably be our record transfer

posted on 5/7/12

Lloris wouldbe first choice and Szczesny would leave as he isn't a number 2 keeper.

This transfer would make absolutely no sense. We need a cheap back-up for Wojciech like Gordon NOT an international GK which we already have.

Szczesny is our GK for the next decade. Stick by him and he will become one of the best in the world. He is only 21/22.

This would annoy me more than selling RVP.

if he's costing £16m he's obviously not gonna be a back up keeper. Szczesny would leave, seems like a strange rumour. Either way, if we did buy a keeper doesn't mean we're not looking at other positions too

Is it fickle to want us to buy a player than we actually need? I am one of the most positive posters on here, always have been, I've got a very good feeling about Podolski and Giroud, check my article that I did yesterday on how we are able to replace RvP.

We don't need a quality YOUNG keeper in Lloris who would cost upwards of 12 million and who isn't the best fit for the PL, we already have a younger keeper in Szczesny who will be better than Lloris, but Lloris is too good to be a back up! We just need a decent back-up who is cheap but has the ability to challenge Szczesny, preferably Craig Gordon, and our primary concern in terms of spending big should be either central midfielders or a new striker, not a goalkeeper.

Back to Russia

Of course everyone welcomes class signings but not at the expense of other more pressing concerns.

I will laugh my a ss off if any arsenal fans on here are actuall happy with signing a keeper.......you couldn't stop going about "top class" keenew per Schezney last season Don't get me wrong, Lloris is class and i want him at spurs but considering the amount of a ss licking on you're current keepr last season, it would be an embarassment you all suddenly saying you want lloris now.

I realise that these might not be our only negotations, but given how we're supposed to have so much less cash than the likes of City and Chelsea, we should first of all be looking to make big transfers in areas where they are genuinely needed. This is just a waste, there are many strange things that Arsenal might do but I'd have hoped that spending 12-15 million on an unnecessary keeper isn't one of them. I just hope it's bs, however L'Equipe are fairly reliable.

Szczesny's performances last season did get a bit overrated, loads of people were saying he was one of our best players but he didn't perform as well as he can.

And the majority of us don't want another keeper, at least not another 1st choice like Lloris. I do think we overrated Szczesny a bit last season and maybe he got over-confident as well, but he was still good for us and will only get better, he will be an excellent keeper.

Don tottenham, the only thing embarrassing is your comments about last season. Oh and Tottenham.

posted on 5/7/12

Szeczesny more than deserves a few more seasons to prove himself. He was outstanding for a keeper of his age.

8bit surely you wouldn't be happy with this. If he signs for a large sum we definitely aren't going after a playmaker and either a defensive mid or a defender, which are far more pressing issues than a keeper.

Serial Wumaniser, says the guy that comments on every spurs article on the tottenham board

I for one think Schezney is over rated but you arsenal fans think he's some sort of god.......would love to know you're opinions if you get Lloris.....i bet Schezney goes to being "rubbish and over-rated"

You'd bet that on the basis of what? Most of the comments on this thread suggest that Szczesny is by no means a god and has been overrated by us Arsenal fans, so we hardly think he's a god now, and I'm not sure we ever did, we just got excited because he's a good young keeper and we're not used to having good keepers at Arsenal, at least since 2008

Most people also seem to think that Lloris is unnecessary and would 'kill' Szczesny

End of the day Lloris is better then Szez at the moment.

Would he improve us - Yes
Is he currently better then Szez - Yes

However i do actually belive Szez will be a top GK in a few years time but knowing our luck he will run off to Barca as Valdez will be coming to an end then.

andre the rumour looks strange and I think Szczesny will be a great keeper so don't believe the rumours tbh, we'll see.
