He tried to be a clever little but failed spectacularly. He attempted to create even more discontent and unhappiness between the fans and the one man he should have had the upmost respect for, Arsene Wenger.
Words cannot describe how much I despise that man.
Probably the 2nd best RVP related thread today.
I also didn't like the whole "I personally had a great season, touch my face"
Exactly I hate RVP at the moment much more than either Wenger or the board. He's just took a massive dump on the club and has lost all of my respect.
Also Darren Dein is the biggest ever, he's a facking disease affecting all our best players.
Damn you Robin! I loved you!
"Get your own name printed on your shirt as you're the lifeblood of the club not some multi-millionaire who will leave at the drop of a hat."

I can honestly say that's one of the greatest ever sentences I've read on this forum, chris.
I'm torn over van Persie. I agree with what he's said, (whether he means it or not) but agree it was an unnecessary way to go about things.
Feels like this summer could trump last in the gloom stakes.
The way he goes on about the direction of the club has me thinking that he saw himself as the manager/chief executive and not an employee/player.
------------------------------------------------------------
I totally agree with this sentiment (and the rest of the article too). Out of his entire statement it was this one line that really riled me:
"Out of my huge respect for Mr. Wenger, the players and the fans I don’t want to go into any details, but unfortunately in this meeting it has again become clear to me that we in many aspects disagree on the way Arsenal FC should move forward."
The way Arsenal FC should move forward in my humble opinion is that the players should be paid to play, while the business-minded business people should be paid to run the club. There should be no blurring of that line, especially not in the players' minds.
I'm gonna get Podolski on the back of my shirt
Its all about the money. RVP knew we weren't going to offer the amounts he has been tapped with. The fear for RVP was that we were going to force him to see out his contract. He doesn't want that. RVP knows he is not going to replicate the sort of feats he had last year. He would also be 30 when his contract expires. And would he even stay injury free next year?
Hence the statement to force our hand to sell for the rubbish money that Man City are offering.
I would keep him or swap him for a Real Madrid striker or sell him to someone in Russia.
I wonder what the fall-out in the van Persie household has been like today..?
I imagine Robin sat in front of the telly with SSN on, wondering if he's gone about things the right way?
Lady, did you do that on purpose?

Cheers Lex.
I'm not with you on the doom and gloom front though. I'm looking forward to seeing how Podolski and Giroud fit into the team and hopefully see us bring in another player or two.
I think all this has energised me. If Van Persie wants out then so what. All this talk of loyalty and love from players is mostly crud but I look at Wenger and that man is loyal. Sure he's made mistakes but the man could have went to pastures new so many times.
I'm fired up for next season, wish the football started tomorrow.
Nothing will trump last summer in terms of gloom.
RVP leaves. Yes we know he was important but unlike most non-arsenal fans we know that we're not a 'one-man team' and RVP was just finishing off the chances. Giroud is a good striker, as is Podolski and they will help us cope without RVP.
To be honest, my gloominess relates more to R&W's letter to the board than RvP's decision. Just wish I didn't find it all so believeable.
Ahh, it'll pass.
I'll be alright again soon.
Might even allow myself a few choruses of "LU LU LU LUKAS PODOLSKI" later.
I'm gonna get Arsenal on the back of my shirt
arsenal not the players or the manager
Everyone has to write one Van Persie article to get it out of their system, I honestly feel infinitely better now.
Have I missed the inevitable article or ten from John about how happy he is?
