I think BR is a man of his word. He had an agreement set up with Gylfi to come to Swansea.

When he moved on he urged him to negotiate with the new Swansea manager, which is what he did.

He clearly wanted to move on and Brendan wanted to sign him. I think Brendan offered the same terms as before which was agreed.

Gylfi had another offer on the table from Spurs and went for that, BR stuck to his guns and that was that.

Read it anyway you like, but all BR did was offer the same terms as before. There was a better offer as far as Siggy was concerned and he took it up.

To put it in a nutshell, Gylfi wanted more after agreeing a deal with BR.

Ha ha ha. Beat me to it. Guess he should have lifted an English language book from Smith's instead of looting rumbelows.

Who said he was the next gerrard?

Same thing happened with Joe Cole, he only choose Lpool over Spurs because they offered him £90k a week, which Spurs found to be a ludicrous amount. It's because of ridiculous wages to players past their best like that, that Lpool are now having to cut their cloth accordingly.

He stands every chance of being the next gerald.
Gerald Ratner, pure fluck up.

If Liverpool, or should I say, Rodgers have wanted to, they could have outbid spurs in regards to terms of contract, but the new manager stuck to his guns.
Liverpools revenue stream is vastly superior to that of spurs, even without champions league football, but they are rightly being a little more careful, in regard to where they put their money, after recent overspends on players.

Come of it, nobody is bitter that Sigi joined spurs. Good luck to him and Spurs, we are just interested in what BR had to say on the matter, hes said it. We all agree with him and accept it and are all just eager to see who we sign/if we signed anyone.

guys why are you so touchy? i get that your upset your club has gone backwards and is no nonger a threat to anyone, but dont take it out on spurs, i was reading a thread on here last week where numerous of your fans were saying hes the closest thing to gerrald they have seen for a long time. i get your upset but dont be stupid about it

What Liverpool fans are arguing about is the fact that Spurs fans deny money was the biggest factor in Sigi joining them.

If it wasnt then why did Spurs feel the need to offer more wages then both Swansea and Liverpool if it was certain he would choose them?

They even called BR bitter and weak because he came out and said his bit on it explaining to his clubs fans why he didnt go all out for Sigi.

I dont think anyone blames Sigi or Spurs for accepting/offering more money. Its when their fans deny it when its clear for all to see.

fair play harold, i just see a lot of anger directed to spurs for some reason, but its cool

so where do you think you guys need to strengthen for this summer? i think defence wise you look ok, whats happening with skertel though? if lucas gets back fit hes a solid player, i would say you need at least 2 centre mids and maybe 2 wingers to be anywhere near top 4

Liverpool were on the brink of administration before FSG took over, your revenue streams are much larger than Spurs, but then again so is your wage bill.

I am sure one of BR objectives will be to lower the age and wage of the players at Liverpool. I only bring up the Joe Cole scenario as A) it is identical to the sigi one, just the other way around, and B) that was signing was a prime example of where Liverpools transfer policy was going wrong - £90k a week for 4 years for a 29 year old who was past his best. Atleast the likes of Henderson and Carroll have time to come good

im sure money did play a part, but i also think the fact that he knows the london area well and has many family and freinds here also played a factor

I like Sigi as a player, i hope for his sake hes now not assigned a similar role to what Piennar Krancjar Jenas Bentley and the rest of them got at Spurs.

I also dont think hes a Modric replacement but a VDV one, if VDV doesn't leave i find it hard to see how Spurs will fit Sigi into their team.

I think BR's comments have upset the Spurs fans, the truth hurts, just enjoy your signing and move on.

i would also say its a indication on how far lpool have dropped over the last 5 years and how much we have improved, you can deny this but i think most neutrals would agree with me

Which was due to the way the purchase of the club was financed, and the complete mismanagement of the two cowboys who bought the club.
