I wasn't comparing the players, I was highlighting the principle of being able to make a judgement based on watching a player once

Jeez, it's like drawing teeth!

just checked this bloke out on wiki ( I know, I know, I could be a professional scout )
doesn't seem like the sort of player I want, i.e 29 years old, not played in a major league, can't see what he would offer

It`s like looking at my humble abode once, and putting it in the same bracket as your castle

Still not gone in I see

As a more appropriate analogy would be, it's like checking out the roof on your humble abode & then doing the same at my country pile - then concluding that they both keep the rain out

CE was quick to jump on this...without looking at my post regarding him needing first team experience......

Making stuff up to suit his crumbling argument

Does it have a thatchered roof ?

He needs experience but would be good cover for Baines.

Back on topic.

I agree TB you can look at a player and see he can play straight away.
My point was you can not tell straight away if he would be "good cover" for a season if Baines got a bad injury.Presuming he is at the club of course.

If he's a good player then you can take a view on whether he'd look out of place in the first team.

It's only when he's given his chance that we'll know the answer tbf.

It would be wrong to rely on the kid at this stage & I'm certain Moyes won't.

Agreed, but only after a decent run of games can you really tell.

What did you think of Seamus after 5 games playing wide right?.......
