Murray's (permanent?) mental flaw

We need to stop making excuses for Murray about being in the best era of players. Del Potro managed to win a major during the stranglehold of these top players, and did it by coming back from 2 sets down I believe against the same man that Murray has lost to 3 times now. And that was Federer in a better point in his career. Roddick at least put up more of a fight against Federer 2 years ago and took the final to 5 sets. Djok managed to sneak in amongst Fed and Nadal when they were the top 2. Murray should have done the same by now, and the fact he hasn't probably means he never will because he doesn't have the mental toughness when it comes to finals.

wums <laugh.
roddick put up the fight and so did Andy. Where is roddick now?
How many GS finals has Roddick made?
Djoko is a better player than andy, end of the story but Andy is much better than the England has produced in past 80 years-FACT!

Reverend is a WUM, no tennis knowledge IMO, utter rubbish he posts.

If Andy is a loser then please explain as how RObert Dee, Ward and Baker are winners or if Lampard, Gerrard, Terry, Rooney are winners. English are no better in the bottle department. English cricket team has not won a single ODI cricekt world cup.
explain.

Only tough sportsperson comes to mind from the island is Chris Hoy. A man of steele.
Not even a single footballer has shone in the Euro or world cups. English sportsmen are as god bottlers as Andy, rather Andy is much better than for breaking the 74 jinx for Britain. Fred won when no one played the tennis. Ask an englishmen to win at Wimby, you will get Rober Dee who is the king of losses by losing to 54 times. He might be holding the lowest of rankings in ATP, some reocrd for LTA

The Mighty - You don't know your tennis very well then, as Roddick made 5 finals and won 1. He's taken more sets off Fed in finals than Murray has, and this when playing a more peak Fed.

Someone posted eariler today that it was "man v boy"...

Murray hasn't the skill, stamina, class or mental strength to beat Nadal, Federer or Djokovic.....

Also, the build up of Murray by the press and and fellow sporting professionals did not help him today... but the difference in class between Federer and Murray was massive.... He should be happy he got to the final...

Spurtle- I know my tennis well. Roddick has won one slam and he will not be winning another one. Andy is only 25 and has already made 4 finals and also 3 sfs in a row which is no mean achievement.

And for comparison sake he should be compared with English players and not the American as being English, are you not boasting that English have more bottles than Scots?

Murray was not favoured by the bookies or by the media, Start reading decent stuff rather than footy boards.
Murray did well to reach finals and it is an accomplishment in itself as other Englishmen kept bottling in the qualifiers leave the main event. Not to mention watson's defeat who is considered to be English prodigy.
Press will go gaga over Murray because he did what no otehr Brit could do for 74 years not even your own Tim.

Again dodging the question. Please elaborate on your awareness of English tennis players. Who was English number one before Tim Henman?

Logic please, I know you are not a man of high IQ but please try to talk sense and come up with facts rather than blabbering.

The difference between Novak (even before 2011) or Del Potro or even Roddick and Murray is that when they had their first slam final in their early 20's (ok, might be second technically for Nole) they stepped up to the occasion and won it. That was the main difference and it is an improtant one! When you are young and get to the final, you should not have much pressure and be able to execute your best tennis, as the underdog! Murray wasn't able to do so and it is a pity (and who they met is not really an excuse as Del Potro, for instance, met Fed too and still won and that was just a year after Murray lost to Fed in the final of the same GS). That's when Murray's weaker mindset was his downfall. Today though, for the first time, he showed he was a fighter and this bodes well for the future as he seems to have what it takes to win a slam and there is no excuse not to win one if it is true!

Delpo had no pressure at all and he also had the game to take on to Fed (that massive forehand). Nole surely had something but where was it during the SF?
