nitb, it seems that djoko does not get anything out of wimby 2012. He hardly has got mentioned after his sf exit.
Rosol has been granted a legendary status, Murray has gained more followers, Federer has shown why he is called "The Mighty Federer" but Djoko seems to nonexistent in the memoirs. Strange innit?

tbh, Djoko is a treat to watch when in full form like he was at Wimby 2011

Does anyone know who is scheduled to play in the Olympics on the first day (28th July) on Centre Court?

Is it Rafa Nadal the defending Olympic Champion or Federer the current World Number 1?

I don't need any convincing. He looked just as good this year until the semifinal.

I've no idea whether the "proper" Wimbledon rules apply to Olympic Games.
All I know is that the final is on the 5th and that the draw comes out two days before the tournament starts.

Wanted to get tickets to watch Federer, but don't know when he'll play. Oh well, there's always next year Wimbledon.

how are you going to "get" the tickets, they have all already been distributed.

He struggled even agianst Stepanek. he lost to rafa at Rg which he should have never lost on his 2011 final.

nitb, I don't know why but you are in denial. Had Djoko been playing at the same level then he would have been the no. 1 and not Fed.

I think fed being no. 1 seed should be playing the first match.

Didn't Nole struggle last year v Tomic and Bagdhatis? Didn't he struggle v Dolgo and Tsiparevic at the USO? Didn't he struggle v Hewitt at the AO and Ferrer?

I will not term those as struggles. Against Baggy it was similar kind of wimby match between Andy v Baggy, Nole did not struggle but had to dig in deep but he was never out of sorts like losing matches on double fault.

Even Fed in his stellar seasons must have had matches like Nole v Tipsy, Nole v Tomic and v Dolg but those cannot be termed as struggles. Even the RG semi Nole lost against Fed was a close one.

If you remember correclty then Nole was leading against Rafa when they took that rain break. IMO Nole is not showing the same resolve like he showed on 2011 especially post Aus open. But we all can have different opinions.

Wimbledon highlights in no particular order:

Rosol stunning whole sporting world....and Nadal, final game in particular was one of the most awesome things I've ever seen.
Brian Baker making one of the most incredible come backs in tennis.
Heather Watson's great progress.
James Ward's superb effort v Mardy Fish.
Mardy Fish's superb return after heart survey and his classy post match interview after defeating Ward.
Wildcard Marray winning the mixed doubles and his partner thanking him for having such a poor ranking that they could enter as wildcards!
Daily first week upsets.
Superb first set and a half in final from Murray.
Post match interview with Murray that created sea change in opinion about him.
Nick Bollitieri's colour commentary.
Reply to comment re Becker - 'he's the nation's favourite German" "Well, he's hardly got a lot of competition head he?"
Finally, the fact the BBC covers Wimbledon and not Sky.

Did Becker not lose to Stich in one of the finals? I know that's not a lot of competition but just curious.
