I'd have him back in a minute.
Just look at the seat pitch poll which is open to a lot more people, and you will get your answer and who everyone wants as manager!
Billy is top with 29.9% of the votes
The closest behind him is Mick McCarthy on 11.71%
Shows my point
August 12th ... Leave him up there (in Scotland) and use him as target practice
2 Star... Why not? I know a lot of fans would disagree. But he's got unfinished business and proven experience in doing well with this club. We've got a new structure and hopefully we'll have a better team than we did when he got us to the playoffs. Better option than some of the other managers currently in the running.
Why don't they do a poll like on seat pitch, come up with say 3 managers and ask fans to vote for who they want?
Clearly the majority of the fans want him back or would like him back, I just don't know with these new owners though if they will listen to that request, as he has not got a worldwide name like Hoddle or fergie Jr has!
I mean I would rather have Nigel then Darren as manager!
Seat pitch
rigged voting... how many times have you voted for Billy?

Can only vote once
Otherwise would be 1000
Well i have just voted for 3 different ones and they all registered
It will not happen... he only has himself at heart and too be honest, it seems to me these guys are ruthless. He won't be able to moan like he did before, and he just does not have the image that these guys obviously want
You all want mr nice guy who is friendly and happy with the board, but that never happens if you want a successful manager!
I mean look at BC he fell out with every single board he was with a despised the directors, i mean if he was in his first years charge today when he finished 17th i know you lot now who hated billy would also have been calling for his head!
at least he got us into the playoffs, and if the club had backed him at the right time he would have got us up.
Like former lovers and pubs where you have shat yourself in, its wrong to go back. so.. I would pass on appointing Billy again.
Yeah the ones who don't like Billy as well always point at his 2 playoffs.
Firstly who can argue that if we had just got Nicky Shorey in the January when we came 3rd, we would not have gone up?
Also the year after we came 6th with not one new player from the year before! That is a great achievement!
With money I think it would be a sure on bet that he would get us promoted in a maximum of 2 seasons!
I don't see him returning, but if he did, well it might not be the worst decision ever made. (That would be fat Ron).
i mean if he was in his first years charge today when he finished 17th i know you lot now who hated billy would also have been calling for his head!
--------------------------------
SC finished 19th .. I haven't called for his head but agree that there is better out there.
At the time BC was brought in and we were not famous. Under Allan Brown and McGuinness we were shiite. BC was a big name and we could see things were going to get better. Better than any of us thought they would.
Bad comparison. Davies had 2 failed playoffs and as others say..... Don't go back thinking it will all be rosie again
good point samxred, but i still think Billy could do a good job again, if it dont work they could aways sack him again!
Why was it 2 failed playoffs though Webbo, ask yourself that?
Do you really, and i mean really not think it he had been backed up in the January when we came 3rd or even that next year when we came 6th, we seriously would not have been promoted?
Also it would be a win/win for you Webbo if he came back.
If he came back and we got promoted, i guess you would be happy as we would be in the Premier league
And if he came back and he failed then the majority who want him back would admit they were wrong, and that would be the end of the topic.
Either way, you win!
Sbd I think it was more to do with team selection that we failed in the play-offs. The sight of our captain who was clearly unfit, yet picked to play was car crash stuff to watch.
I was a big fan of Billy and supported him loyally thoughout but I'm 50/50 whether he'd be the ebst choice. Its a new era so the new owners deserve the chance to appoint their own man with the money their putting in. Billy's lack of interest in the reserves concerned me, he also didnt show much interest in young players which for me are vital aspects of any football club. Overall his signings were better than bad but we had far too much striker rotation which meant we never got going with any one of our strikers. His tactics were usually good but his tantrums and moans in the media will work agaisnt him getting another job as whether he likes it or not he's tagged a trouble maker. What if the Al hawasi's appointed him and things didnt go so well, they'd apply pressure and he'd go to the media whinging about interference and it might cause a split amongst fans? The new owners wont want that risk, its time for all the in fighting to cease and we all need to row in behind wheover the new manager is and the new owners! Whoever gets it will be under immediate pressure and a remit to get promotion so there'll be no room for excuses, its put up or shut up time so the new manager better come with his A game which is great for us fans
just hope whoever the new manager is, they really want to make Forest do well and want to be the manager to lead that glory, instead of just seeing this as a stepping stone to a better job in the future like I think harry would have been like, which is why I am glad he has ruled himself out!
The playoffs were lost by Billy Davies...Simple as that... Lewis playing a defensive role in the first leg against Swansea for example...or not picking Lynch at left back which was picked up in an after match comment by the Swans (who had done their homework)
Errrrrr... Taking far too long to bring Earnie on in the 2nd leg... need I go on?
He bottled it : twice (good manager, never said he wasn't. He won't be back so I really don't see the point in all these posts from Billy
"Ilovetolickyourass" boys)
but those saying that seat pitch shows how many want him back, this vote so far only has one more person who really wants him back than those who really don't.And if i can vote, that would be even at 5 each - so that shows it isn't a majority. its a split. surely the fact that a lot of fans don't want him says something?
