A 2,000,000 loss.
Do i win?
Wasnt he on the last year of his contract when he left? If you didnt let him go he may have walked for free.
He was refusing to sign for you, don't think that the club had much choice...
think how much you saved on wages before you began paying them again
He was after an improved contract.
The club would not give it to him,his contract was running down, so he was sold.
Imo, they should have given him the improved contract.
Maybe, but when you had him on loan you were paying him nothing right?
And now, he probably hasn't got the improved contract.
Reckon that you've broken even on the whole business, lost him for a year sure but saved a decent chunk of wedge even with his improved transfer price.
Not really, he must have been given the wage he wanted from Spurs when he moved.
Your logic suggests he is coming back for a pay cut.Cant really see that to be honest.

Arteta left us to go to Arsenal knowing he was taking a £10k a week pay cut
Hmm, do you know what he was on when he first went to Spurs?

How do you know that he left soley because they offered him more money?
They were in the CL at the time & they have a strict wage cap don't they?
Whatever the truth was, all I'm rsed about is that it looks like he's coming back on a permanent deal, as he was our best player when he left & he was our best player for the few months he was back last season.
He makes us tick, so I'm chuffed.
You carry on using the signing as another lame excuse to beat the same tired old drum though mate.
