Suarez Case vs Terry Case

Endorsing and circulating a racial slur, which to others may cause offence.

Hard to see that one sticking.

why ? that's exactly what happened.

When you add in the Frimpong issue which has now come to light today, plus the fall-out from the terry cas, I think the FA will step in.

If not, serious questions will need to be asked about the FA and the effectiveness of the Kick it Out campaign.

I'm wondering what Clarke Carlise and Jason Roberts, who were so quick to lambaste Suarez, have to say on these matters.

Should a charge be levied at Frimpong, or are you just looking out for your second team?

I dont understand twitter i have to say, but my understanding is that he approved the comment which made it visible to all his followers with his approval of it. That would mean that he has endorsed it and redistributed it with his endorsement.

On twitter, he apparently called a spurs fan who had insulted him <a word which rhymes with bid>

When was that! That is shocking and should face an 8 game ban and time like Suarez.

The comment from the spurs fan was out of order, but if the FA take sanctions then the timing couldn't have been any worse for Ferdinand and vice a versa.

posted on 17/7/12

oh, i thought you meant ferdinand

it's a bit less bad coming from a north london rival i suppose, but bloooody stupid all the same. i would rather see ferdinand get done for his choc ice comment personally, not least because that has nothing to do with football whatsoever and is just a straight racist remark.

I am going to bet that you are to stupid to see the glaring, and I do mean glaring, difference between the two cases.

The FA has opened a can of worms with the Suarez case, regardless of whether you agree with the decision or not.

Although each case should be reviewed and judged independently, I agree with VC when he said he wants to see some much needed consistency from the FA, especially when the Kick it Out campaign is concerned.

posted on 17/7/12

The FA have no place getting involved in off field issues whatever their nature.

The Terry & Suarez cases were on the field of play.

posted on 17/7/12

i dont want to fall out with anyone here, but the difference as i see it is that one is a football related put down, and the other accuses someone of behaving like a person of different racial background would behave.

One endorsed a comment and circulated to millions whilst the other made a comment which was circulated around the web.

Or do you mean that one's a Manchester United player and therefore he should be treated differently.

Or maybe using your words I'm just "mentaly challenged"

Unless choc ice is a well known racist taunt?

Frimpong's is a shocked as we know that is offensive

posted on 17/7/12

why does it have to be a well knowcn racist taunt ? what's it being well known got to do with anything ? the imagery is self explanatory.

posted on 17/7/12

Really....i never took it as racist. Milky bar.....Bournville.....should he have called him Solero instead?

posted on 17/7/12

It has a conotation PJ's, it's the modern day version of an "Uncle Tom" & therefore highly offensive.

fellaini, all i can say is that you cant be very bright if you didnt know right away what it meant. if rio can work it out and you cant, you must be in trouble.

One was a direct attack on a specific individual. The Frimpong one. By the way, if anyone is looking at Frimpong, they seriously need to be looking at the tool who Frimpong directed his comment at as well.

The other, the Rio one, was not. Rio did not make an attack on any individual at all. Hence the police are looking for the guy who made the tweet, and not Rio.

Vastly different cases altogether.

Or are you letting your hatred of United get into this?

posted on 17/7/12

I dont hate united at all.

I dont like the ferdinand's but that i cant just make it up if he hasnt done it.

I dont agree with your comment that Rio didnt attack an individual. My reading of it iss that he attacked an individual (ashley cole) and a race (white people).
