Then the solution is what??????????

As I understand it:

- Rovers need to reduce the wage bill from £8M to £3M

- All out of contract players, with the exception of Paul Keegan have been released

- We have 15 players on the books at the moment and our wage bill exceeds the £3M budget.

- As yet, only the Charlton manager has made enquiries about players. This initial interest has not led to any further enquiries

The problem is that other clubs know we need to reduce the wage bill so in every sense, it would pay them to wait before making an approach.

Waiting will

- Put pressure on us to sell at a lower price

- Put pressure on the player to accept a lower contract offer

- Delay our putting together our squad for next season (a help for our League 1 competitors).

The only risk in waiting is getting beaten to the punch by another club.

So I don't think we can expect movement any time soon so I won't be getting too anxious about a lack of activity.

Thing is, as explainable though the lack of activity is, its also bad news. Can you imagine if none of the 15 contracted players have moved on at the start of the season? In the end, if anyone is interested in any of our players, they can wait until October before they have to make an offer.

Fuzzy. I said last week that all the transfer activity will happen over the next three or four weeks.
In the words of Corporal Jones.
Dont Panic.
Ionky, mate, the solution is to ldt the club do its business.
They know what to do.

Question. Anyone know why we are still paying Sullivan as he has not featured at all. Seems Woods and Maxted are the keepers. Is Sully fit?

In DFP today, I read that Stockie could be a Burnley player by the weekend. Thanks Brian for all you have done, good luck to you and your family.

Front runners to sign Reeves are now Gillingham. Martin Allen seems to have this sewn up according to Sky. Doomed...we are all doomed

Thank you Private Fraser. According to the DFP, Friend could be going to Charlton.
