Denise Lewis looks like shes trying to shake a poo out that's clinging on to her bum hair.
why dont the posh have the right to compete at the olympics
Plus there are a few pelvis thrusts in there as well. I need a cold shower.
The dogs run around jumping over poles, they go one better and run up ramps and go through tunners, it has more right to be in the Olympics then show jumping which is just there to please the snobs of this world.
=====================
on what basis does dogs running round an abstacle course have more "more right to be in the olympics than show jumping" ?
show jumping is a test of how well the hrose and the rider can perform on the day. dog obstacle racing is just about how well someone's trained a dog.

I don't think he is saying they shouldn't, more of the case that certain events are only accessible to the rich.
whats wrong with that, its about diversity, cycling and rowing arent exactly cheap, and if we get rid of those then we wont win any medals at all
wow, someone's got a chip on their shoulder about show jumping. Equestrian stuff isn't just for the rich, plenty of people from all classes ride horses for fun, it's just anti-rich blinkered bitter people that think it's snobby.
Horse racing looks fun, but tbf it does look a rich man's sport. Doesn't help that they all look posh, esp with Zara Phillips leading the way.
exactly reggie, everybody has the right to compete in the olympics, rich, poor or homeless
Speaking about sports only but the very rich can take part in, anyone watching the sailing?
Our team are in fifth at the moment but that will be good enough for gold.

unfortunately reggie, many people are driven by a desire to see the downfall of those more fortunate or succesful than themselves, rather than focusing on improving themselves and their own lot. its the way of the world unfortunately.

DJ is right here, some sports like rowing is mainly out of reach for the rest of us.
In the late night Olympic programme last night, they even said that one of the men who had won a gold medal was not from a wealthy back ground, said it all that did.
also quite a few of these 'rich' rowers have been in afganisthan, iraq etc and are war heroes.
Russia came 3rd in marathon
I haven't got anything against the rich, I was just saying show jumping is only in the Olympics to please the rich
What they have been saying is that previously rowing was a rich mans sport, however, with the likes of Redgrave etc they have been pinpointing talent and using lottery funding have allowed them to train. Meaning that rather than just being rich to do it, you have be talented.

so show jumping cant be an olympic sport because you dont own a horse ?
do you own a running track, a cycling track, a high jump, a javelin, a tennis court, a pommel horse or a boat ?
on this basis the only olympic events we can have are martahon running and table tennis.
ive sat on a horse about twice in my life. does that mean i have to think that it shouldnt be an olympic sport ? ive never had a boxing match in a ring. does that mean that i should be against boxing as an olympic sport ?
i just dont get it.
Rave, we all know that one of that lasses answered a newspaper advert from Sir Steve Redgrave, who had set up a sports programme to get more non privileged people into rowing.
And by the way i have worked alongside the Army as a civilian out in the Falkland Islands a number of year ago, and trust me there are many very rich people in the Army etc

you think that these show jumpers dont have talent ?
people have won an olympic rowing gold medal who had never been in a boat 4 years ago.
you think you could become an olympic show jumper in four years ?
no chance.
i know there are, that wasnt my point, but rather than sitting at home spending their riches they are risking their lives, which in my book is about as heroic as it gets
