Madness, the Kinks and the Who were best things in closing ceremony

the kinks and the who were cool, could've done more with bowie. Madness I wasn't so keen on nothing like when they were really rocking it.

Maybe I am slightly bias, having seen Madness live four times (including Liberty of Norton Folgate).

Would have prefered Noel over Liam

Spice Girls were sh ite 1st time around- you cant polish a tuurd

someone said earlier Noel didn't go cos he didn't want to sing with Liam?
My opinion has always been that Noel's a better singer but Liam is a better front man.

I've seen madness live twice too, that's why I wasn't so keen on them, much better tunes they could've played imho

tbh I wouldn't have cared if neither of them had played, a bit childish that for this one event they couldn't have gotten over themselves.

I can't stand take that but hats off to Gary Barlow for getting up there tonight.

I thought it was reasonably ok until round about George Michael performed his second song. Was that a song he's got coming out as I've never heard it before? If it was then pretty poor that he's using the event for publicity.

Russell Brand and Jessie J shouldn't really be allowed to ruin classic songs either.

Not only was Elton John not there, he wasn't even referenced in any of the music montages from what I recall, both opening and closing ceremonies. Same with Phil Collins. Bit weird that considering how big they are oversees.

I wonder how long they'll keep olympics footage on the bbc? I wonder if they'll stick an archive online somewhere?

Wonderwall only really works with Noel.

Mad boris dad dancing to the Spice Girls did not let us down-

Elton John should be part of the music journey- nothing to do with Diana.

It is weird. Love them or not, Elton John and Phil Collins are two of our biggest and worldwide best-selling singers, so its odd they'd have been disregarded so completely.
Elton could have dueted with George Michael for 'Don't let the sun go down on me' which would have been miles better than the second song he did do.

I like the fact that we've given a *really* good account of ourselves as a nation to the world over the course of the olympics, we've come across as a really friendly bunch.
