Vlaar looks good. He's been dogged by bad injuries in the past, including two cruciate ligament injuries on the same knee, but he's been OK for the last couple of years and is a class player.
There may be a chance of getting Carroll but I think it's a small one. I notice Holman is on our team sheet as a striker; maybe PL doesn't make too much of a distinction between strikers and midfielders who can score. It's the way things are going, so maybe we don't need too many out and out strikers. After all, if Spain can play 4-6-0 ...! Maybe McLeish had the right idea; no, wait, he tried to play 6-4-0.
I can't see Gabby as an attacking midfielder, his interplay with other players isn't good enough. So either PL will keep him as a striker or move him on. Fonz is a different matter; apparently he played quite well at Burton, moved well, interacted with others and was pretty lively. PL might just get the best out of him.
Can't wait for the U.S. matches, to see how things work out.

Snodgrass could be on his way as well so i have heard, getting a decent squad together
Would rather have Bent then Carroll tbh

We desperately need a new striker. Bent and Weimann are the only 2 I'd class as strikers. I'd happily drive Gabby and Fonzy to a new club asap.
