Essien and malouda should leave

Walcott is after money. He is not a 100K a week footballer

I would definitely still have Lampard in the starting XI.

Maicon's just signed for RM.

Sturridge isn't leaving, and if we sign Hulk/Schurrle we won't get Moses/Walcott IMO. They're all alternatives to each other

And Romeu should stay, Piazon isn't ready for a loan

Torres would be our only ST in the squad!

I’m not sure I agree with you. If we sign Oscar than we don’t need one of Hulk/Schurrle/Willian in my opinion. Oscar is a versatile player who I think is very capable of playing on the right of a front three.

Hazard / Torres / Oscar sound like a potent attack to me, understudies being Kakuta / Sturridge / Marin.

Alternatively if Oscar plays deeper than Ramires could play on that right side, either would work although I prefer Ramires deeper as he works hard in the midfield tracking opponents down to break up play as well as being canny to time runs forward from deep to as we saw to very good effect last season.

I think you’re overlooking Marin, while I’m not expecting instant success for him I think at 23 it’s clear he’s expected to play a part. Also consider we may well keep Benayoun who is another option.

Malouda should go for sure but given Essien’s ability and attitude I don’t know why more people aren’t willing to give him this season to prove himself. He may well be sold off come this time next year but he deserves a chance. Given the clubs domestic form last season he was never really given a chance. And actually when played deeper in a role that relied on awareness more than energy he excelled.

Assuming Ramires does play in midfield next season and Mata plays number 10 it is likely the two deeper positions will be taken by two of Ramires, Lampard and Mikel all of which will have a big part to play, Meireles and Essien add very capable cover.

Hulk looks 100% dead in the water.

Agree with this

TCP, Essien is an athlete from the waist up

Schurrle/Willian aren't right wingers.

Yea but from what I can remember, they were playing as a left footer on the left side, with Schurrle and Willian they are right footed left wingers. They are not wingers to go up the line and put a cross in.

I think Meireles will stay. Essien and Mikel will hopefully go. Maybe Romeu on loan.

posted on 16/7/12

if Malouda is still at the cluib next season something is seriously wrong. Meireles has imo been looking to go since the ginger one departed. personally i'd prefer to keep him but i wouldn't shed any tears if he went

and npe, why do want us to dump Mikel, Essien and Romeu

considering his form, work rate and the clear hostility of the fans, if the club is not making every effort to move him on something
