Usually top 5
Luke Donald 18/1 not a bad option imo
most bookies will offer top 6 while a few will offer top 7
Paddypower are offering 7 places but I do not know at what percentage of the odds
If we are offering tips then Fowler has had two good Opens and plays well in the wind. Not sure if we will win it but I would have him down for a top 7
Bookies offer 1/4 odds and as this is a major, PP is doing an offer of going 7 places, most of the rest will go 6. I regularly bet on golf as you get big prices on decent players, and it's the norm that players with odds of greater than 50-1 can win or be placed.
Driving looks the key this year, so perennial underachiever Garcia might be worth looking at, and enough big priced Americans have won in recent years to show that it is worth looking outside the usual suspects. Older past winners have done well also (e.g. Norman, Watson) so perhaps someone like Cink might be worth a shout.
And whilst it's unlikely to win 2 tournaments in a row, Singh, who has stated he loves links golf, might do well again - one can imagine a commentator quipping "just over a week ago he wasn't even in the Open, and here he is now having won the Scottish Open and in the hunt for this one".
Best of luck whoever you do.
Anyone bet on the 3 ball markets? Imagine it will make every round even more interesting and good odds if you go for a double/treble.
I like to bet on the 2 ball markets after the cut is made - you can often get good value for a small accumulator. I use to bet on 3 ball markets during the first 2 rounds also, but even though it is just an extra player to consider, it seemed a lot tougher!
