For the first time in three years I am very pleased with NC , having lost maguire , ball , davies from the strikers and replacing none , loosing JS , addison and barker all CH's and bringing in keogh , and replacing green with the lad from preston and missing out on players prefering crewe and huddesfield .
On top of this other fans have finally seen through the lies and spin , I think he should be congratulated for shooting his self in the foot.
Well done nigel , not long know fella !
Have I missed something rob? But Davies is still a Derby player or are you talking about Billy? Maguire? didn't do much for Derby last season....Ball? how many on here this time last season were saying he was part of the plans...could say the same for O'Brien and Hendrick this time last year...Addison? when was he last an asset to the squad? I will wait and see until I judge....don't want to shoot myself in the foot...
Let's hope we catch ourselves a Sammon next
could be worse...we could of appointed Sean O'Driscoll...
Robrea, McGuire never played, Ball hardly played and Davies hasn't gone. Addison didn't play either. Green and Shackell both replaced like for like. We've missed out on a couple and signed a couple that other clubs wanted. How is that shooting himself in the foot? Seems like any old close season at most clubs to me. Get rid of some dead wood, do some wheeling and dealing to freshen up the squad and before you know it, the season started. Redknapp and Warnock have been doing it for years to great success. Why can't Nigel?
Griff....Robrea has a hatred of Nigel Clough and cant turn back now. So hes going large on this now. But he knew all about Shackell this time last year...or he will tell u he did...but it must be really grating of a Derby fan to want the manager to fail so badly.
Peeder...in the world of Robrea....if a player leaves Derby its because they dont like the Manager and the club has no ambition....if we sign a player that other clubs were after then the other clubs didnt want him that much....all in the world of Robrea who cant stand Nigel Clough
Last season at home to Cov. I remember saying to you backo that their centre backs were hard to break down...How many on here expected Bryson and Hendrick to do so well last season....Naylor looks ok and people were slating him coz he'd come from Mansfield...I bet Rob slated Brian Clough for signing a certain Davies from Worcester City....
Yeah i do remember Griff. But im much happier now as i see the money from Shackell being put back in the team...with the prospect of more to come
off to Tunisia on sat mate..bloody miss the Alfreton v leeds game saturday....I can't believe there are people moaning that Addison and Maguire have been moved on.
Oh yeah Maguire...the man whos gonna rip us apart on Opening Day because hes been at our club lol...Sheff Weds fans will be thinking..."That little barsteward Ward will score"...Jamie Ward playing for us over Maguire all day long!!!
Bywater to keep the pride park bench warm on opening day as well....
We got far more than 1.1m eh!
Glick bullcrap, it's the only thing he can think of to get him out of this whole. His test will be the striker he brings in.
"We got far more than 1.1m eh!
Glick bullcrap"
Share your POV Iwas, but there is another possibility. As the fee was supposedly "undisclosed" and yet Glick had no problem answering questions based on a 1.1M figure (Why is that?), perhaps we did actually receive more than stated but didn't want to shout it from the rooftops?
If that were true, Id have to say well done to Glick, as that may have helped our prospects of picking up Keogh. Yet it doesn't explain why we have wasted so much time on that strategy, just to be left exactly as we started by the end of it! I'm not gonna hold my breath waiting for the answers though.
Peeder's right - we won't miss players who never played. The only exception being Callum Ball who always looked well capable to me. But maybe a year of scoring goals at Coventry will bring him back a really good striker for Derby.
My Problem with Glick is that he's yesterday's man. Why is he still involved ?
Ramdini - - not many people have been agreeing with anything I've posted over the last week! Thank you!!
I can see us looking to play the Swansea way this season (I'd like to say the Barcelona way but that would be pushing it!) with pace and energy all round the pitch and no-one necessarily being a "target" man.
On that basis, I'm hoping we won't miss Ball this season. I didnt think he would get many games if Robinson, Tyson, Bennett and Ward are around and, with a bit of luck, either Davies stays or we get a replacement in for him - but he's a great prospect and will hopefully come back all the better for his trip to Coventry.
My Problem with Glick is that he's yesterday's man. Why is he still involved ?
Because they haven't replaced him
And if Sammon is hooked, will he not be a target man
Igor - Ball is 6ft3 so fits the target man mould better than Sammon who is only 5ft10 and more of a striker than traditional centre forward (although I hate using these old fashioned terms). I certainly haven't seen evidence of Ball having the mobility that Sammon has.
Didn't realise Ball was that height, well you've done you're homework on both Peeder so no arguement from me
Igor - I wouldnt have said he was 6'3 either from looking at him. Poor lad, he's built a bit like me - his width takes away form his height! God help him if he ends up my shape now.
Kappa shirts not gonna do ya justice then Peeder
I'm surprised at that too. looking at him in the Prem last year he looked a big guy, well over 6ft. 6:3 would of been more like it.
Igor - I like to think that going with Kappa has saved me £50! I actually reckon that they've reduced potential sales by doing it as I'm not the only horizontally challenged fan that I know.
Iwas - its weird how some players look taller/shorter than they are. I reckon clubs list heights taller than they really are to "scare" the opposition.
