yeah, if this was to bethe case it would be horrible. I'll all for a couple of quality players coming in, but owners should never be in charge of transfers.
good thing is, I don't believe it for a second. just overblown tabloid bullcrap if you ask me. the squad can't be overrun with non eu players anyway. Plus, the Al-Hawasi family seem like very sensible business people who will want success. It's just maybe not going to be as immediate as some assumed. Still better than a month back though. I hope.
Supposing this is true (which I believe it to be utter nonsense and just the usual lazy journalism), what exactly would they seek to achieve by bringing Kuwaiti players through the club?
It seems an incredibly expensive and time consuming process just to raise the profile of a couple of Kuwaiti footballers.
Personally I think this is to help raise our profile in the Middle East, which can only be a good thing, and if they aren't good enough then they will go back. The Al Hasawis won't benefit from investing in sub-standard players and potentially getting relegated. I think they're brighter than that! As has been said before, we might even unearth a couple of gems, as happened with some of the African/Asian players some years ago.
As far as I'm concerned this is a load of rubish, to qualify for a work permit alone you need to have played a certain percentage of internationals and for a team in the top 70 in the FIFA rankings (Kuwait are 93) you can appeal if refused but only in exceptional circumstances i.e. the player would need to be bloody brilliant, if they are that good by all means sign them
Rubbish Journalism.
Arsenal done it with that Japanese kid.
Man U done it with Park .Players that came in to make up the squad and boost the clubs profile in the far east.
Park done exceptionally well to be good enough stay in the squad for all those years. Should Al Muwata and co do well, there will 1000's of Kuwaiti kids dreaming of playing in the English leagues and buying Forest shirts just like the kids over here.
I remember when Mr.Doughty R.I.P talked about linking up one of the far eastern countries.
He would be smiling now because we got the link.
Lazy, lazy journalism.
Rubbish journalism.
Rubbish paper.
What a load bullsheit ... how he can be paid for writing stories like that really is beyond me! Completely fabricated tosh
Hahaha we had exactly the same thing when our owners took over load of rubbish, we have one Thai and he's in our youth setup, filling space in the papers lads.
I am hearing though the money sod has to spend is nowhere near what is been reported. That is no wum statement either
i saw that too wigston, but then again the info came from an agent, and Forest are hopefully not going around bragging about the cash they have to splash!
It's not in their best interests for us to get relegated, so hopefully they won't be too tight!
I'd imagine including wages it will be closer to £10m
That should be ample, for this season anyway
As long as we don't go and do something stupid like spank £5 million on a player of Matt Mills' quality we should be ok
Yeah, I wonder what team did that?
Even that was lazy journalism though it was 3m with a further 2 if we got promoted.
still £2.5 million too much
Great at blocking shots, but was slow, thought he could play 40 yard passes from the back and a hot head
Poor article, four paragraphs of utter tosh! the last of which makes my skin crawl.
This is not aimed at he OP or any comments on this post but some of the things that I have been reading from people is near on racist, so what if these players are from Kulwait, if they ar good enough then so be it. What would peoples reactions be if the owners were Spanish or dutch and had multiple trialist from those countries???
I would also like to point out that the striker that came in yesterday is rated as number one in the world ahead of david villa, I understand that with stats you can make anyone look better than what they are and that he will have been playing "lesser" opponents but you can only score against who is put in front of you and with that in mind a trail is perfect to see if those stats can be transfered to the english league.................. Good luck to them all I say!!!!
I've been Informed by my trusted source (Knows Fergie, Wenger + other Managers personally) that all is not as it seems with this takeover.
Why would potential managers turn down a supposed "dream job" when they have nothing else in the pipeline?
I've been told that Forest are going to be used as a way of getting Middle Eastern players up to scratch before the 2022 World Cup.
The Countries over there all desperately want to get at least one side into the second round, if not further in the World Cup and are prepared to help each other out to make this happen.
What better way of ensuring the Middle Eastern players get a taste of "proper" football in one of the toughest leagues in the world, and this plan DOES NOT involve being promoted to the Premier League as this would not suit what they are trying to achieve.
This is just racist bile from the gutter rag that is the DM, Forest like all companies in the UK have permit restrictions which they must adhere to so even if the owners wanted they couldnt fill the squad with on eu players. We ll sign a couple maybe, 3 or 4 absolute max!
Is the direby board really that dull colbi you have to waddle onto ours with your sad wind ups? How much profit did ur yank owners make on shackrell? £200 or £300k? Haha wow that was big business can see why your owners couldn't turn such rich pickings down!
