I wonder what Levy is like in a game of monopoly

This will teach any spurs player to not go down that route in the future, spurs showing the footballing world how you deal with a mercanery

i hope we keep him and he rots in the reserves with no pay

We are going to get a lot of stories like this, and we can't get wound up by all of them. There are absolutely no quotes in this story, and neither Spurs or Modric have confirmed that he has been fined. This story has as much truth in it as the RVP is going to do a Rooney style U turn story.

Yep, basically the papers don't have a clue at the moment so they are just repackaging old material. I really wish the transfer window would only last a month, 2 months is too long as nothing happens in the middle 4-5 weeks.

Modric take a look at Ledley, now theres a real class footballer.

posted on 22/7/12

So you lot would rather a class player stay at your club with no prospect of winning a major trophy and a set of fans that change like the wind.

He deserves to go to Madrid. He's been your best player and you cannot match his ambition.

United sold Ronaldo to Madrid and sent him away with a handshake and wishes of good luck.

Liverpool did the same with Alonso.

But you lot... No, you'd rather see him sit there and rot - and its all because you c an't win major trophies.

Whether we keep him against his will or sell him we are going to have to sign someone in his position who wants to play for us. Just sell him to the highest bidder and let's move on. Look how it ruined our start of season last year. An extra point from those early fixtures would have got us champions league.

Guys.. until i hear it from the club then i dont believe anything

If it is true then agree, keep fining him and refuse to seel him for the lack of respect for this great clubs and the fans who have supported him so well

Metro

United held out for 80 million

Alonso was not wanted at Liverpool because the waiter was chasing Barry

Nothing like the situation at spurs

Exactly Smeg.

Keeping Modric at the club means two things:

1) his value goes down with his contract

2) you won't be able to sign a worthy replacement.

shut up you idiot

You got top dollar for Ronaldo so why should we not do the same.. really some people on here are so thick ..

Smeg, maybe your points hold water

But you can't deny that the players were not held against their will

And they went with the best wishes from their fans

User 10288 - lets not get childish.

I'm trying to have a decent conversation. If you disagree then state why, but don't start getting silly.

I'm merely saying that keeping Modric at Spurs is detrimental to your own progress

Ronaldo didnt sulk and not turn up for the first 2 games of a season, nor did he ever disrespect your club so no need to not support him and i dont think he had just signed a new 5 yr contract when madrid came in for him

that is what you said ..

Your saying we can not challenge or win things.. well we wont if we wsell our best players onthe cheap and if you bothered to read whats going on the club have said he can go but at the right price.. Simples

Sometimes a club needs to bite the bullet.

Lets take the two scenarios.

1) thfc keep hold of Modric until a bid comes in that they're happy with. Modric will be at your club but vying for a move. That's not good for the player or the club, especially whilst he's getting his wages.

2) tottenham sell for slightly less than they'd hoped but the player has gone and money is in the bank for a replacement. Youcan crack on wit the season with a group of players that want to be there.

To reiterate my earlier point - keeping Modric eill be detrimental to your own progress as a club

I might be but we are not goign to give him away, what would be the point of contracts if that is the case
