My last comment was really directed to you, rather...SDS.
However, I do not agree with you about getting Parker on loan, cos at the end of the day...he may contribute little or nothing to the team.
If the Club wants a replacement for Essien, a short-term fix is not the solution...they should go all out and sign a long term replacement, after all...we are in a transition period, so this is the best time to get his replacement.
Like I initially said though...there's cover for Essien, and we don't need a replacement for him.
Then there is the fan's who supported lampard over the years, then after one season, think he has completely lost his ability. Yes he is getting on. Yes he is not as good as he used to be, BUT he is still better than most other cm for the other teams in our league!

SDS.........well said in regards to Lampard.
Scholes and Giggs have been past their best many years ago,but in the last three seasons, there have been matches when both players have had blinders when playing against us.
Lampard still has an important role to play for CFC.

If AVB and Chelsea are looking to challenge the very best, not just in the league...but CL as well, then the likes of Lampard should be used sparingly.
Pardon me for digressing...but what did Lampard do to turn the game around, when we played Mutd last season?
Then compare his work rate and influence on the pitch to Giggs...you'll see the difference is clear!
Giggs supplied two different assists when they beat us...what did our mighty Lampard do?
It is in these situations that top players show their worth...unfortunately, Lampard couldn't do it.
We need players who can make things happen, if we are to challenge the big boys...simples!!!
Our problem is the continued over-reliance on the old guard
We should be looking to deploy Lampard more sparingly and more as a squad player, much as United did with Scholes and Giggs, and be blooding youngsters like McEachran into the squad as his eventual successor
On a different note I hope Emenalo's comments are just aimed at deterring the media. This squad needs some major changes!
Was Giggs injured for most of last season? No. Lampard was rusty, you could see he wasn't fully fit, therefore you could see his performances were lacking.
I'm not saying Lampard should play all of every game next season, but he should be starting just over half of our games next year.

When did any player in our team do that last season.

Inasmuch as Drogba had his fair share of lack of form, he still proved he could be a thorn in the flesh for defenders.
When was the last time Lampard made the midfield tick, when did he supply a defence splitting pass for the strikers?
I am not hating on Lampard, but one has to face the reality, and the reality is that....Lampard is not the same player, as he was some seasons ago.
He lacks pace, he's lost his agility, he can't even take those free-kicks he was once known for...Lampard is deteriorating; truth be told!

Scored in both games
Though he missed two sitters in the cl games
He lacks pace-which he never had
He never get's a chance to take free kick's these day's.
How did he get 39 assists in two seasons?
No one has mentioned the good Mikel has done

Statistics are like a bikini. What they reveal is suggestive, but what they conceal is vital.
Those statistics wouldn't tell you how the assists were made.
Lampard is good without the ball, than with the ball...meaning: he prefers to run into the 18yard box, where he either scores or passes for a teammate.
How many of those assists came from a defence splitting pass?
No one has mentioned the good Mikel has done

Well there isn't much to talk about. He's awful. Possibly as bad as Bogarde.
Mikel is defo not awful. Did you even watch that video? You seem to have some prejudice against mikel. I have no idea why.
Most fans agree he at least deserves to be in the squad. But you feel he should be thrown out even when six of our coaches have approved him and refused to get rid of him. Ancelotti and scolari even spoke very glowingly of him. You should pay more attention to his game.
Don't mind npe on Mikel, he can't accept he's a good player
One of our better players last season, don't see why he isnt given a chance
