Nunez has been MOM so far. On everything. Nice
to hear Eddie G saying how Nunez has really quick feet.
Hopefully, he'll get a real chance during the real games.

Him and Snoddy sound very lively. Clayton sounds quite promising. Kissa playing well too

Parker sounded a little off the pace.

Biggest shocker was hearing the correct pronunciation
of Rachubka's name. Blimey, mine was well off the mark.

BBKPAE, next you're gonna tell me Father Christmas
isn't real. Let me dream. Please. It's hard enough having
Bates as our chairman.

Batty, lets just say last season i heard so many saying how brilliant McCormack was because he scored 5 against hartlepool reserves.
They should really know better.

BBKPAE, got you. But, I thought Nunez was never given a chance last season. I saw him play for his country. He has plenty of skill and I'm glad he stood out tonight. I firmly believe he can do some damage this season. Call me insane if you want. I'm excited he's still with us. Only hope SG feels the same way.

BRING BACK KIDS PRICES AT ER

Thought you'd have been there being as it's not at ER?

Somebody said on here the other day why not play Nunez in the free role behind Becchio when he's fit again. I say yes to that. I think that could be a good partnership. Worried SG might put Howson there. Which would drop Nunez down the pecking order.

Then again, what do you do with Somma, McCormack and Billy P. (actually, I've got a few ideas for Billy)? It's nice to have options in one part of the team at least.

batty,i agree that Grayson failed to get the best out of a few players last season and played some too much.

I never take notice of results or performances in pre season. Means nothing

But gotta say nunez really excites me, should have got more chances last season

Eric, very rarely do midweek anywhere. But an 800 mile trip far too much

If SG can get Nunez, Snoddy and Max into the same side and hold firm at the back then we will be a challenge to anybody next season.

Jonny, I think Howson would have to sit for that to happen? Not sure he's got enough on the defensive side to hold the middle allowing Max, Snods and Nunez to barnstorm?

posted on 13/7/11

It's a tricky one isn't it? If Nunez plays his way in then who sits out?

what does 'Douglas' mean in the title of this thread?

Jonny, Nunez and Howson play the same role. Howson
has the armband experience from last season, he's an SG favorite and a Leeds home grown boy. I think SG will have a hard time playing Nunez over Howson. I wouldn't.

So Batty, you think Nunez will simply be used as back up for JH/ impact sub?

I hope not. I would play him in the role he played tonight
ahead of Howson. But, I think SG will want to play Howson there also/instead of Nunez. If that does happen, I think Nunez drops down the pecking order. I could then see McCormack getting more chances than Nunez. Because there'll be a log-jam up front. SG will want Becchio in first eleven (I agree). So, no I don't think Nunez will be an impact sub due to different options available in the midfield and up front. Nunez has to win a starting place in order to have a chance. At least that's what I think.
