A defender!?!? Sign him up!!
What a horrible state of play for Pompey though
They could end up playing in the lower leagues of the pyramid system for the next few years. I know their loyal fans will follow them anywhere.... But it's looking more grim by the day for them.
Bringing in experienced defenders is a good move in my opinion. What they may lack in quality they make up for in experience.
It takes time for a defence to become a solid unit especially when starting from scratch with four who heven't played before, but I think the experience of Collins, and maybe Halford will help to shorten the time it takes.
I do expect Freeman to be given the number two shirt this season so he will need some experience alongisde him, same for Lascelles if he gets some games
Sounds like a nice bloke. Met the Portsmouth fans the other day and admitted it would be better for the club to sell him rather than him rip his contract up.
Wouldn't mind taking Liam Lawrence at the same time...
I hadnt realised Halford was 6ft 4?? Thats impressive height coz he's a very assured player with the ball at his feet which is unusual for guys of that size. He's played all over the park too, winger, up front but mainly at full back and centre half. With that height and compusure under O'Driscoll's tutorege he could settle in at centre back and be a great addition.
He will be a great signing at right back or central defence.
he's 6ft 4 inch, I didn't realise how hard Kelvin Wilson must have been, cuz unless I am mistaken, this is the same diving tart who went down like he had been shot, when KK went near him a few seasons ago away at Sheff U. I'd be happy NOT to sign him
