The introduction of Sordell and Ngog will make a difference, especially as a pair.
We look well slow up front
I'm sure you are right. Such a pity both are missing for our warm up games.
Well we would hope so Davies looks really slow
Is anyone going to the Morecambe game
Davies has never had pace but I think he will still be a worthwhile member of the squad. I don't think he will play most games.
Signing off now, good night guys.
I hope not as its just long ball every time boring football
just watched the match 2nd to most balls, falkirk had much more energy than us, we looked slow in everything we did never wanted to break sweat cisse looked tired after 20mins so will fit in well, riley, ,ricketts, alonso, alonso, eagles, petrov & mavis best out of a poor bunch,we have a long way to go pratley & cisse dire
Night exile.
Owenowen, how can you say it was long ball? All game we were playing short, one-touch football. The problem was that there was nobody mobile or fast enough to create anything. ZK was the only outfield player that decided to smash the ball forward aimlessly.
theres only 1 alonso sorry
Alonso was so good you named him twice eh goldwyn? It was a bit worrying how level the game was when we were playing a mediocre 1st division Scottish team.
And this whole attitude that "it's all about fitness not results" is nonsense. They all looked match-fit to me and we still looked sub-par.
exile, its that one hour time difference
b.b.sturridge, spot on they looked every bit as good as us.going foreward but that isnt saying much, i thought our defence was better but so it should be.
Winning is a habit you have to have to be successful. But not winning is the habit we have. If your not worried ask yourself how many times last season did you think things would come good and we would be safe. Then sit here now and say is it ok to accept poor performances friendlies or not in hope that something will happen that never happened last season.
Up again and raring to go.
Not the start we wanted but I remember pre season quite a few years ago. We didn't win a game but did really well once the season started. I'm not sure if it was the season we won the first division. Perhaps someone can can tell us.
Pratley has had a typical performance, unbelievably good off the ball movement, but missed 3 good chances.
HH I have to ask have you got the right player or is it a typo. If its not are you sure pratley and ubbelievably good is honest he is pants
Have to point out that Chelsea and Liverpool both lost against inferior opposition last night, so its not all bad
i just hope they have'nt stopped playing for coyle,we will find out on the 18th august. just a thought i hope theres no truth in it. but they have not looked like a team giving there all, wich would be nice after the relegation of last season,i just want to see some passion and desire that the players want to do well this season,i have not seen that yet ,can coyle really get tough and get these players motivated i hope so.
Other teams have lost to inferior opposition but as Marc illes says the worry is still at the back as they carved us open too easily. Bar mills who has not impressed in the other games that will be our back 5 come 18th August and they must improve. We were poor at the back last season which was blamed on personnel rather than tactics. This season you have to ask now that the personnel is all coyles so if it is not sorted why? Even knight is now a coyle signing.

Indeed we will, when the season BEGINS. Stopped playing for Coyle? Half the team haven't my even begun to play for him. Come on, get real. They are friendlies, time for experimentation and fitness. Results don't matter too much.
Lol holdsworth. Liverpool lost to Roma and Chelsea lost to a collection of the best MLS players who are half way through their season - We lost to Falkirk.
I've only seen last-night so far this pre-season but it's extremely worrying how blunt we are in attack and equally useless defensively. That said, our passing looks pretty crisp and we look pretty fit, albeit slow as hell. We need at least 1 new striker regardless of n'gog and Sordell and to my mind, a new CB to push ZK further and further from the line-up
I think we are getting a bit uptight about our results over the border.
We have several friendlies to play yet, let's wait and see what happens in those games.
Anybody know when Ngog is scheduled to return to action?
I dont care what these scores are, I just dont want another Lee situation. You guys seem to be worried but I am not, Turf moor is where it will matter.
Apparently N'gog will be back in light training tomorrow if all goes well.
Aristodemus, I'd love to know where you're getting your enthusiasm from. I get that it's the league games that count and also that we have 4 more friendlies to hone our game - But everything so far looks painfully similar to last year. That doesn't unnerve you?
