I feel he will already be a more regular first teamer than Park was.
If he combines the talent we have already seen with Park's attitude, we will have one hell of a player.
I hope no-one forgets how so many supporters were very ruthless in their wanting for Park to be sold.
Pretty tasteless to be honest.
Kagawa is more technically gifted than Park.

RR, good article though! 5 stars.
I was one of those supporters. Park was a great servant to the club but his time was over.
Im suprised another Premier League team bought him based on last years performances but good luck to him, I hope he proves me wrong (not against us though)...

I'm not trying to be confrontational but I just personally felt that after just one poor season everyone was very quick to show him the door. He deserved a bit more time to get his form back. He was an O'Shea player for us who never gobbed off in public and was happy to do what was asked of him.
Nice to hear, especially for a Japanese player to give such kind words to a Korean (not that the 2 countries hate each other but there is clearly a lot of rivalry between the 2)
I'm very excited about Kagawa, seems to have all the right attributes both physically and mentally.
He was a great squad player youre right but I never warmed to him.
Put it like this, in all his time at United there was never a spell when I would have had him in our best starting eleven.
My mates stiil wind me up over this.
Fair enough Diggler
We have Kagawa now so i'm just gonna focus some Asian love his way
Im going to focus some Asian love to his girlfriend.

I thought so too. Obviously individuals are able to transcend these kinds of rivalries but there is a lot more edge to the Japan-Korea rivalry (and history) than e.g. England-Germany. Having said that, I guess it's politically easier for a Japanese person to say nice things about a Korean than vice versa, since the Koreans were the victims of aggression.
I agree with the comments defending Park against shabby treatment from fans. It did look as if his time at United could well be over at the end of the season but impatient 'drive him there myself' comments (which I hate in the best of circumstances) were totally unjust towards a player who had been the ultimate professional and whose particular qualities made a massive difference in a number of our biggest games in recent years.
At some level he must know he is a more talented footballer than Park.

While I am very excited to have Kagawa, comments like this are a bit quick... Park was immense for Eindhoven and S.Korea and played some really great, skillful football with UTD for several years (played out of position, i might add).
Either some of our fans have very short memories or don't really remember his 1st couple of seasons.
Read that yesterday and thought the same
Kagawa is United's next superstar for me. (which means he will spend the next 5 years injured probably)
I really do rate him highly
No one should really have judged Park on last season as from Jan til May he only had the one game due to injuries.
Good luck to the lad and i'm glad another PL team bought him and showed faith by handing him the Captains armband for the pre-season games!
Pretty much every game he played in, last season, was a team that SAF pulled out of a tombola and it will be that season that sticks in alot of fan's minds.
I know it's all for the greater good and that... But the way Park, and even more so Berba, were treated, left a bitter taste in my mouth.
