Berba chose us... You never know
yh berba chose us how long ago ???
man city have grown as a team since berba joined us and i can only see them getting stronger.
i think rvp would also see man city winning more silverware now than us so i think he would choose city over us.
exactly it is down to wages and man city are going to be able to offer him more than what we will.
dont see why we are chasing him down anyway because even so rooney an play as st with kagawa behind him with carrick and fletcher in mdfield with young and nani on the wings.
We may get him but I think city will soon go all out to get him.
Soon as Adebayor is sold.
yh berba chose us how long ago ???
-------------------------------------------------------
ok then, Kagawa. A top, top player who only wanted to sign for UTD
city will be loaded with top quality strikers at this rate. rvp (if they get him of course), ballotelli, dzeko, aguero, tevez etc. they play 3 up front sometimes do city so 2 ill miss out most likely going to be dzeko and someone else but dont know who. any of the 2 strikers on the bench would easily start for a champions league club.
I think it's a lot more difficult for an Arsenal player to choose City since Nasri jumped ship.
RVP seen how Nasri is treated by fans, he might think he has a better chance of remaining in their hearts if he goes to United. Make it look like a decision for tradition and history rather than money.

but how much more interest was there in kagawa ???
there wasn't 3/4 top clubs chasing him down there was only us who wanted to sign him and we did with no other serious interest from any other clubs.
We offered him£130 you upped it to £150 he wants £220 the same as Rooney, its not about trophies its about money.
One greedy
if man city offered him 220k a week and so did man united i think he would most likely choose city for silverware reasons.
it all goes down to who wants him most because we can both offer him 220k a week.
I don't think he will end up at city to be honest but the history comment is a cheap shot, two major trophies in two seasons shows we can offer success.
Even scholes admitted we played the best football, which was a generous an welcome comment from a player I admire.
but how much more interest was there in kagawa ???

"I think Arsenal and Chelsea certainly looked at him, Real Madrid very late on in the game became aware of his potential, but United stole a march on everyone because the player wanted to go there."

Looked at him
Not denying he is a top player, but it seemed like there was little competition for his signature.
As for RVP, he wants big wages and trophies, hell get that at city and fully expect him to go there.
Cant see us wacking out 150+k a week on a player with his injury record.
I think it's a lot more difficult for an Arsenal player to choose City since Nasri jumped ship.

Clichy and Kolo Toure are not regarded with the same contempt by Arsenal fans as Nasri is. Nonetheless, if they are to end up hating RVP, they will do so irrespective of whether he joins City or United.
Not denying he is a top player, but it seemed like there was little competition for his signature.
--------------------------------------------------
If a player has decided his destination, is there much point spending time and resources trying to change his mind?
Was there much competition for Fabregas' signature once it was clear he wanted away from Arsenal?.. No, because he only had one club in mind.
Anyone who thinks that we were the only club who wanted to move on Kagawa is naive at best and downright stupid at worst
I think Hazard disproves that, didnt he change his mind on a daily basis about where he was going to play?
Or is he the exception?
I think Hazard disproves that, didnt he change his mind on a daily basis about where he was going to play?
---------------------------------
If that is aimed at me, I don't understand your point.... Most every player will be open to various clubs and it comes down to certain factors why he would sign for UTD (or City).
My point was that there are certain players who decide on UTD over the riches available at Eastlands.
RVP will go to City, I have no doubt about that. They have proved that they can win silverware and can offer much more money.
Is that all it boils down to then?
Slightly more money and arguably better chance at silverware?
What about competition for places? Managerial style? Playing style? Size of club? Euro pedigree? (the dreaded word) History?
Also, we don't know how the FFP will start to affect City. Maybe they have to start bringing their wage bill down, that is currently more than their annual turnover.
Haha we buy players and it's you have too many how will they like being on the bench, it is competition for a spot chances to win trophies and who doesn't want to earn more money.
The problem we have is making sure the players we want to keep are the right players.
RVP is more concerned with silverware than money, so I dont see why everyone is saying in that case he'll pick City. I get the impression he's also quite interested in joining one of the world's great historical clubs as well, even if that doesn't end up being United.
However focussing on silverware between the two Manchester clubs United have the best manager in the game, and have consistently won major trophies over two decades whereas City won the league for the first time in generations last year with the last kick of the game and only after United gifted it to them by collapsing in the last 6 games. This doesnt mean City didnt deserve their title as ultimately they had the better goal difference, but if Silverware is your aim in the future that doesn't mean United have no chance, quite the opposite if FFP works, especially if United also start spending money. City aren't spending massively at the moment because FFP is already impacting them, and it will only get worse for them in the future compared to clubs like United.
However no class CM would be a major hinderance to United's silverware ambitions imo.

I'm not knocking City for buying up players.... I'm just saying that it could affect a player's decision on the transfer.
has an Arsenal player ever joined United directly?
