Ah I see:

And there he is complaining that Super Dan has gone back on his word.
Luka, I look forward to seeing you in the stands.

Modric's biggest problem is his agent. The same on who negotiated last year a 6 year contract with wages which clearly undervalue his client.

Luka hands in a transfer request. No problem. You got 5 years left mate.
Luka wants to go on strike like Berba. No problem. You got 5 years left mate.
Luka wants to go to Chelsea. Haha we don't deal with Chelsea and if we do then Levy will rince for every penny. Every knows this.

I still think Levy will not sanction any move for the rat in this window but January he might have to cave in.

From the BBC's Phil McNulty on Twitter:

Spoken to Harry Redknapp: "We know Luka wants to leave. Writing it down on a piece of paper doesn't make much difference to our stance''

What next Luka ??

I think Levy should just say the following. Chelsea, you want him so bad? £50 million or £45 million and Sturridge.

Then tell Luka that is the 'solution' the club feels is adequate (in response to this supposed gentlemens agreement'

If they want him that bad they will pay it. If not they can do one. Torres wasn't worth £50 million, but the compensation to Liverpool was. Same case for Spurs. Chelsea set this market, so we should make sure they pay the going rate.

Smegspur

If you were Levy (after making a couple of statements this summer saying we will not be selling our best players) would you still go to Chelsea and say you can have him for £45-50 million ??

I think not. At best I think he MAY offer him a rise in wages but even then that would send the wrong message.

"Termination of employment
There is a legal minimum notice period which varies depending upon the duration of employment.
If the period of employment is longer than 1 month but less than 2 years, the period of notice must
be at least 1 week. After 2 years, the minimum notice period is always extended by an additional 1
week for each additional year of employment up to a maximum of 12 weeks’ notice after 12 years’
employment. In an employment contract the contracting parties often stipulate a longer notice
period than that prescribed by law."

This is from page 45 of a long and very dull document on EU employment law

http://www.iuslaboris.com/Files/Archives/national-employment-laws-across-europe.pdf

The final line is interesting as it states no contract can legally hold an employee for longer than 12 weeks, obviously this is not how football works at present and football has precedent on its side. However it would seem that Modric could go to court and get his contract declared illegal. If he did that football would change forever as the knock on affects for all teams would be huge.

Luka,

I know what you are saying, but I have had it with Luka. If the chairman took the deals I state, I would not hold it against him. Luka has proved himself to be a of the first degree.

I'm interested to know how Chelsea can continiously post huge annual losses and yet continue to spend huge after doing so?

RE Modric, thanks for the transfer request but DECLINED.

Seems Daniel levy fooled modric into signing a new 5 year contract lol. Robbie keane earns more than modric.

Daniel levy comes out bad but modric at the time should have come public

Chelsea can stump up £50m if they want him that bad. He's just as valuable to us as Torres was to Liverpool.
