I have always rated Henderson. He seemed to be labelled a poor player once he joined us!
The price tag and playing on the right wing hasn't helped him at all, but he will be a very good player. His short passing, speed, fitness levels and determination will be perfect for Rodger's style.
I was also very happy to hear Rodger's saying that Henderson will do well in one of the three spots in the center of midfield. He also recognized the stick the lad is getting, but he can see the potential in the kid just like Bruce, Capello, Hodgson and Dalglish have.
Ignore the wums!

Yeah I've been saying that I think Rodgers' approach will suit him. You're absolutely right about his attributes, and I think Rodgers will be very clear in getting across to Henderson what he wants him to do.
I think the rabbit-on-the-headlights factor will be lessened.

Aye he looked pretty nifty in that cameo he had against spurs. I can;t imagine he will look anywhere near as uncomfortable in a 3 man midfield as he did when stuck out of the right on occasions next year. Him, Lucas, Gerrard would look decent in the middle.
I think one thing people forget about Henderson is that he came last year after taking part in the Euro u21 tournament do didn't really have a good summer break.
He played more games than he was probably expected to because of injury to Lucas, Gerrard and Adam as well.
I think he suffered from mental as well as physical tiredness.
I know he went to the Euro's this summer but he didn't play much, and with hopefully Allen signing he will be rotated more, and played in his best position.
I expect a big improvement from him this season and people will stop talking about his price tag.
He'll do well under Rodgers
Hendersons a good player, see the potential for a great centre midfield player.
It was that donkey Steve Bruce who kept labelling him as a right winger and used him like that for Sunderland. I think that is where the hinderence in Hendo's development came in.
Towards the back end of the season you could see the influence training with Gerrard was having in his tactical awareness and style of play.
Amazing isnt it, play a player in his position and he performs......y managers insist on buying players and playing them out of position is a fkn mystery to me.
GB it does my nut in!!
Liverpool are very good at doing that too lol!!
On a similarish subject look at the amount of money we have spend on central midfielders in the last 4 years!
Adam 7m
Henderson 16m (clauses to take it to 20M)
Aquaman 20m
Shelvey 1.7M
Thats 50m... Scary isnt it! on just CM's lol and as of yet not one of them have made a huge impact!!
Positions we have needed has all been a RW and a striker, for like years!
3 man midfield with an attacking flow will fit Henderson much better than played at right back!!
I'm more worried how Gerrard can adopt to that!
